In that case: I don't see a monopoly trend. Why you ask? The Northern European economies are doing best in (the sig economy of) Europe. I think we have a lot of businesses and small indutry too, but of course our size limits the number of businesses.

The state has monopoly in gambling and liqures. The state has also major shares in some vital companies like in an oil refining firm, railways and one airline. Nokia was once BIG and popular in Finland, but not so much more.

I've been listening to Jim Rogers talk for nearly the past 4 years about how Ron Paul is the only one who really gets it. Being a billionaire, Rogers would become an absolute hero if he funded Revolution PAC with 50 million or so.
