  • "good ole American dirt!" love it

  • @italianrelic Glad you caught that. It always seems like nobody reads video descriptions anymore :D.

  • won't this wreck your barrel-thread because of the plastic?

  • @gordoneding1 Do you mean the threads at the end of the barrel for the choke? There's a choke in there protecting them, they're not exposed.

  • @27Turo ok :)

  • If I can shoot slugs am I safe to shoot this? Or will the added plastic make a difference?

  • @timmyjunior1 You should be fine, assuming that the gun's choke is larger than a "modified." Most would suggest not shooting slugs in a gun with a smaller choke than that anyway so if you're following that rule of thumb you should be able shoot the cut shells with no issues.

  • Will a cut shell chamber and eject reliably in a pump action shotgun?

  • @IMBW89 Assuming you cut using the "perforation" pattern like I do in the video, it will chamber just fine, but it most likely won't eject properly. I've tried these in my Winchester 1300 pump gun and they generally don't eject properly, and I have to tilt the gun over to let them fall out.

  • @27Turo Thanks for the reply!

  • My gun is choked half and quarter, could I do this? I don't know the American names for each choke

  • @jm357m From a bit of searching, it looks like both half and quarter chokes should work with this, but I'd recommend the quarter just to be on the safe side. If I'm not mistaken, the half choke is comparable to a "modified" and a quarter is similar to an improved cylinder which is the least constricted of the two. So yes, your shotgun should easily shoot these.

    Enjoy!

  • @27Turo You realize if you don't shoot trap or skeet with that gun I'm gonna have to come and kick your ass!!!

  • @suferwill808 HA! I'd have to kick my own if I didn't! Don't worry, that browning is my dad's baby. It's helped take its fair share of birds, both clay and live. And boy is it sweet to shoot too!

  • @27Turo Good!!! A gun like that should be put to proper use.

  • do you have to have a choke in order to shoot these?

  • @lilwayne5197 All shotguns have some sort of choke. Anything less restrictive than improved modified should work.

  • @27Turo see idk much wbout guns....but if you buy a gun brand new and no extra chokes come with it...will the one it comes with already in work?

  • @lilwayne5197 Most likely it will, but you should check which choke came with the gun. Most guns will come with "modified" or "cylinder" chokes. Both of those will work fine. Just make sure it's not a "full" or "turkey" choke and you should be fine.

Check out the wiki article on chokes if you want to learn more about them.

  • 1:10 xD

  • "pull out a little pocket knife" lol

  • what kind of choke are you using for cut shells?

  • @CEXRsticker I believe the choke was a modified or improved modified. They work well with anything bigger than that though. I suggest Cylinder chokes, or if not available, improved cylinder will work well. Just don't use anything tighter than an improved modified choke.

  • @27Turo doesn't it hit where the barrel meets the chamber? because the inner barrel is smaller than the chamber there is a lip at the end of the chamber wont it hit that? any advise will help because i wanna try this but i dont wanna blow up ma gun

  • @georgeevans18 That's part of where the inherent risk comes in. As far as I can tell (after shooting a lot of these) the transition from chamber to barrel doesn't affect anything. You would think it does, but at the pressures generated it's pretty insignificant. I've never seen anything shaved off by that little "step" in the barrel.

Hope that helps! Any other questions you have, feel free to ask and I'll make sure to answer as best I can.

  • @27Turo thank you so much for the reply i appreciate it but could u make a video of you shooting a cut shell into something that isnt gonna damage it so i can see what it looks like after it hits the lip? but if its to much hassle dont bother thank you so much

  • @georgeevans18 That's an interesting idea. I don't think anything I could shoot into would be able to preserve the projectile. I'll tell you what, I can cut a shell open and pull out the components to show what the projectile /would/ look like as it exited the barrel, albeit a little less compressed and distorted.

I actually have some time today, I'll see if I can't get started on it.

  • @georgeevans18 Crud, I just realized I didn't answer your question all the way. I don't think what you're asking would be possible, showing the possible damage from the lip in there. I still think I want to do a components video though, stay tuned!

  • @27Turo thanks alot mate what kind of cartrage would u recommend for this?

  • Wow You have an AWESOME camera man. Who is he?

  • @droberts12345yt He's just some bum that I picked up on the way to the range. He said he'd do anything for 5 bucks so I let him. :D ROFL

  • @TheHondarider28 yeah i definatly laughed at that when he pulled it out!

  • Can you do this out of a pump or is it safer out of a single shot ??

  • @southerngraff They carry the same amount of risk. It just makes extraction easier to use a break-action. I've shot these out of my pump and the only difference is that when the bolt comes back, often times the rest of the shell will not eject properly. A semi-auto isn't preferred for the same reason.

  • lemme guess, make sure to use a full choke? LOL

  • @StealthyLikeDaNinja Only if you really don't like your gun, or your face, or your hands. :D

  • What is that knife?!

  • @geofrichubs It's a Cold Steel Ti-Lite 6".
