it's great, and yet i'm wondering whether steve martin was singing or lip-synching. i can't understand some of his words at 08-10, and yet it might not matter. it's nice how the 3 choirwomen keep coming into the movie. they fit right in, even though they don't seem to do anything much other than sing.

The girls are a bit like a Greek chorus (They would usually just comment on whatever was going on, but every so often they'd interact with the characters). They also are the loiterers right before Skid Row
