Gotta love that horn! You were standing at RJ's weren't you? My fiance and his family use to own Dave's Cafe right around the corner from there. As kids, we use to watch the train from the cafe windows...Can't allow the kids to do that now. The smoking laws. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Hey thanks, Garandman... this is something I'll treasure... I was raised there in Newbern, I went to school at Newbern Elementary, and Dyer county High.... I'm an old woman now...(42)... and younger lookin' every day... I miss Newbern... I haven't been back there since 1990. I'm in St. Peteresburg, Florida now... I've got kids up there in Dyersburg and Trenton.. now...They are teens now... They call me Gennie...

True, But Amtrak does not run through Newbern TN during the day, the only opportunity to view it is a bit after midnight.
