  • from my understanding of the style, the reason that a Kenpo fighter hits the attacker many times in a demo is to show the various possibilities in a real situation. No one ever said that you would be able to actually hit a real attacker that many times. Kenpo strikes the vital areas often and uses every part of the body so it is hard to not defeat the attacker with so many places to hit.

  • paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sarpadisimo...este chavon eso es kenpo

  • very obvious he learned from videos, pirated videos at that! Kenpo instructors are more solid in USA because they have spent years learning under their instructors personally! Not from stolen pirated DVDs and video tapes!

  • @AmKenpoUSA "american kenpo instructors are more solid!" you`re having laugh! American martial arts "in general not all" are awash with cash hungry, self graded , shallow instructors.

  • I was referring to South America, not the Brits. You have no idea how they rip off material from the US and pass themselves as Masters! Am Kenpo is an Am art, therefore naturally the best instructors are here. Sorry that you cant accept the truth and yes, they should be paid for their knowledge.

  • What do you mean "AM KENPO" ? Kenpo didn`t originate in America so why are you calling it American? I`ve only trained in America once before but while I was there I met more useless dan grades than all the other countries put together.Truth is you yanks love a badge/medal/dan grade and throw them around like confetti !

  • You really need to read a book! It is obvious that you have know knowledge of the Parker System of American Kenpo. There are some really good books that explain everything.

  • @mdtyci Agreed. American Kenpo is the style with the most McDojos in the world. Kenpo ranks are totally meaningless and the style itself is highly questionable.

  • @nerdswers it's good to question all arts, also good to keep your mind open. judging things by videos is not the same as spending time in the art itself. maybe you dont like how it is displayed, i understand that, but dig into the history before you question the art itself, might be suprised and even learn a few things. my own ranks mean alot to me, they were very hard to achieve. but i don't need anybody else to approve them. just think the art may have something to offer you.

  • @MrByaeger I used to practice kenpo so I'm speaking from experience! Kenpo has nothing to offer to anyone who is looking to defend himself in the street.Especially nowadays, Kenpo is synonym with McDojos!

Kenpo ranks mean nothing other than memorizing a bunch of coreographed steps that you can only execute in front of a static opponent... It is sad, but true.

Perhaps you should try sparring a little more and you'll learn something... when you do, you'll see what I'm saying.

  • @nerdswers thank you for answering, and to be clear, my background is not limited to kenpo. and in fact i get where your coming from, i spar PLENTY, and train in silat, eskrima, muay thai, grappling, etc. but it's through those arts that i find value in kenpo techniques. i've been training since 1987. i bet if we met we would agree on alot of things. i guess my point was don't disregard your past training so easily, maybe it was just presented poorly. i know it was for me..with respect, brad

  • @mdtyci Another ABSOLUTE truth!!

  • The greatest example of attacking an opponent who will not move. Ah well, even the weakest of people need to feel strong

  • Hey Good flow this was not a robotic performance good control of attackers ! Good power and great energy keep it up.......

  • Great job! Keep up the good work, my brother in Kenpo.

  • Muy buena expo. de American Kenpo.

  • The intensity was good...but if he got rid of "duck feet" and splitting his stance, he would be much better. And keep those fingers together...

  • fluidez de movimiento...la ruta de Ed parker...grande xico..un abrazo

  • Kali sticks and a Staffs..... Kenpo does include eskrima, judo, boxing, lua, etc.

  • that was "DANCE OF DEATH" right?

  • yes that was the dance of death,

they have similar move in Nick Cerios Kempo

    maybe combination #11...

  • good demonstration. He seems like he knows what he's doing. Now bow to the short master.

  • eso fue en chile ;D

  • Q' wena xico Javier, casi me puse a llorar al recordar, si lees esto trata de contactarme, tengo unas ganas de volver a practicar.... Joel

  • im in kenpo karate but my instructor is hugo rojas

  • kenpo isnt for mma competitions, it's meant for street defense, burgosmatthew.

  • epa que bien, pero porq no se resisten, los paraliza el miedo y no buscan ni cubririse.. :S

  • Da Plane...Da Plane!!

  • This guy would get owned in MMA competition.

  • I like kenpo but the problem is they're striking something that's not moving of course you're gonna look good..But what if the target ducks or moves back then moves foward?? This whole art is based on you are gonna hit the person 100 times and not get hit even once!..Sorry to say that's not realistic. How are these kenpo guys gonna react when they do get hit and get hurt bad?? when all they do is practice on a target that just stands there???...

  • We overwelm .The average street thug will not be ready for the berage of what I can dish out, and next thing they know there on the ground with a dislocated knee and at least one hard strike to the throat and I am on my way home.Kenpo is a nasty street defense. We spar every saturday morning so we are ready and know how to take a punch

  • I agree. I started Martial Arts in 1992; I've looked at ten styles; Kenpo beat all of them, hands down. Kenpo 4ever!

  • @Th1mastermike You certainly forgot to look at BJJ!! The Gracies posted a video showing how they destroyed a kenpo blackbelt. Then, in the early UFC, Royce Gracie demolished another kenpo blackbelt who had more than 40 lbs weight advantage... kenpo truly sucks!!! LOL!

  • its all on the kenpo stylist. No one said that you had to hit someone 100 times. that is what you think its all about. in the streets it wouldn't even get pass the first blow. Do not miss judge kenpo. as a kenpo artist I have had street problems and trust me it only took no more than 2 or 3 bows. and it does not matter if the person ducks move forward or back. Its martial arts base on self defence. They train to follow and control the enemys body no matter were they go.

  • yeah lol over skill its all good. i do akki kenpo in uk. i think its the best all round martial art. and i have done a few in my time.

  • Well as an escrimador myself, I have to wonder where his hip movement is with the sticks.

  • I am currently a kenpo student and we started learning stick fighting (eskrima) a few months ago. I agree. No hip rotation but over all he was pretty good. I would assume stick fighting was not his specialty.

  • They aren't "sticks" they're boe staffs and the are difficult to use and control. All in all he wasn't bad.

  • well kenpo is good not all the kenpoist are... right?

  • what would kenpo be without all the posing?

  • hey if your gonna kick someones ass why not look good doing it? LOL!

  • yeah kenpo is over kill if you miss with one strike the next ten could get you lol

  • dont you mean overskill...

  • kenpo karate has more movement. by the time you finish with 6 person you are tired already i think kungfu is the best straight to the target and few movement

  • kung fu is not best, there is no best, kungfu is not adapted to modern defence, in kenpo yes there are a lot of movment but not all of those hits have to be diliverd to the oponent, its there so if one dosn't work you have opptions

  • FANTASTIC KENPO.

  • wow talk about control with those escrima sticks.

  • tight!!
