When I smoked weed my grades improved, I had a greater work ethic and I was motivated to get stuff done because I was less for the moment and was more for the end result.

However, drugs have been the deciding factor in many crimes. Your point is that people should be free to take whatever drug they want because it only affects the person taking it. Initially, you're right, but the choices they make when they're around other people under the influence of it are not solely personal.

@n1terider EVERYTHING we do in life has the potential to affect others in some way, since no one lives in a vacuum, unless you decided to live out the rest of your days on some remote island. Most of the crime related to drugs (the vast majority of which is related to drugs other than marijuana) however occurs BECAUSE they are illegal, therefore expensive and hard to obtain, and of lesser quality and more dangerous than they would be if they were legal.

Hell yea man, the common law should rule. Laws are supposed to be in place for a logical reason that makes sence. There's no point in obeying laws that infringe on our personal rights and hav no real value. Plus as a democratic society the laws are supposed to reflect the wants/needs/beliefs of the people, and since the majority of ppl believe weed should at least be decriminalized, if not made legal, I don't understand how the law stays the way it is.
