Flight Simulator has lots of great weather features: The lightning you saw, Northern Lights, hurricane, even tornado...although you don't get to see the funnel. Definitely a good hobby to get into.

Oh, and the nightly fireworks at Las Vegas are another highlight.

@SenorSpode Standard FS weather does not support hurricanes or tornadoes. That's what's so lame about it.

@sushi064 I agree. I've encountered tornadic winds and hurricane conditions, but never seen tornadoes or hurricane scapes in FS. I caught a tornado on NWS once, went to the location in FS, selected real-time weather and activated the flight...and got flipped on my back shortly after takeoff. There just isn't a visible tornado in the program.
