i have a question... is it okay to house 2 burms of equal size just for a little while? i have a 2 and a half- 3 foot burm and i want to buy an albino burm probably about 2 feet...
Burms are not social animals, if one decides to attack the other it will be nearly impossiable to seperate them. Feeding adult burms in seperate containers in dangerous, I know I would not want to be handling a 16+foot snake in food mode.
For adults i would agree, a cage devider could be helpfull there. But i dont agree on burms attacking eachother, aslong as its not two males. The question was also if he could house 2x 2-3foot burms together for a short term period, wich shouldnt realy be a problem.
Thats nice if you don't agree but burms attacking and killing cage mates happens, especially after feeding when one one or both of them still smell like the prey item they just consumed. I would rather just buy more cages.
@tigertic1 i know i have nothing to do with this conversation and it happened 2 years ago but i have a related question, i know you say burms are not social and attack cage mates. but i worked at a pet shop that had a 13 foot burm and a 8 foot red tail in the same enclosure and they got on well and were rather friendly aside from the burm being a bit twitchy to handling. is it that burms are not social with other burms or was this an exception to the rule because these snakes grew up together?
Very true, i always wondered why u hear all this crap about, oh.. feed your snake in a separate tank or w/e you do no no no bad idea they go in hunt mode and god forbid you didn't wash your hands enough, then someones gonna get hurt it may go smooth a couple times but deff dangerous! I feed my buddy's baby berm the other day and that little bitch was a real sweetheart, but once i brought food in the air she went total hunt mode, i just imagined when she gets to her max length or even 8 feet.
how can u really keep snakes as pets?
Don't they bite you?

Why shouldnt it be ok? As long as you provide adequate cageing it should be alright. And feed in seperate containers.
