They both have exactly the same motors, and both are the same exact generation civic, so i wouldn't suppose any performance changes at all, only differences between years is body style, so you guys are going to be equal as this shows

I live in Toronto and I have an Si, I will run him no worries. I have I/H/E in my Si, i'm guessing around 190WHP, but he could definitely beat me because he is at least 500lbs lighter, that's a big advantage, either way, the K20 is definitely a better motor.

I bought mine from a kia dealer in the low 15k's It took a lot of bargaining for it but i payed 17,000.34 after taxes and stickers and stuff.. so i got a really good deal. worth the hard work. and dont rush into buying one. so many places wanted more for a car with more miles. take your time with it
R18's aren't that quick, they hit 60 in third unlike d16's. and a d16 is approx. 8 flat with less power, but, it's the first gear mainly on an R18 that hampers it's performance
I know why the red Si won. The amount of vtakz is associated with the colour. The flashier the colour, the higher the vtakzz. So white = single stage vtak red = dual stage vtak yellow = ultra stage vtak.

I've bought cold air intakes for my cars primarily for the sound. in an si it makes a big difference in sound, makes it much lauder. And you are partially right about the power gains, on there own its debatable but when used with other bolt ons like exhaust and headers they all benefit from one another to add power

I said 8.5 because iirc that's what R&T said the R18 civic w/ a manual tranny did. It can't POSSIBLY be 11. My '99 Civic w/ all of it's mighty 106 HP and 103 lb ft of torque did 0-60 in 9.9. I used to drive a 2006 DX (it was auto) and it was a lot faster than my 99.

R18's aren't that quick, they hit 60 in third unlike d16's. and a d16 is approx. 8 flat with less power, but, it's the first gear mainly on an R18 that hampers it's performance

I know why the red Si won. The amount of vtakz is associated with the colour. The flashier the colour, the higher the vtakzz. So white = single stage vtak red = dual stage vtak yellow = ultra stage vtak.

intake systems only work good if you have other mods. as far as nearly stock, you dont need an intake. (reflash requires an intake or youl lose power)

lowers your vtec point from 6000 (actually 5800 rpms) to about 4500. reflash is obselete now tho, flashpro is much better.

a lot more midrange power. meaning better accelaration at lower rpm's. so the 0-60 time will improve a lot.

I've bought cold air intakes for my cars primarily for the sound. in an si it makes a big difference in sound, makes it much lauder. And you are partially right about the power gains, on there own its debatable but when used with other bolt ons like exhaust and headers they all benefit from one another to add power

Wow ... R18 engine propels the 4 door to 60 mph in about 8.5 seconds. The Si takes 6.3-6.7 depending on the driver. Wanna race my stock Si for a thousand dollars? I'll give you a car length head start ... ;)

I said 8.5 because iirc that's what R&T said the R18 civic w/ a manual tranny did. It can't POSSIBLY be 11. My '99 Civic w/ all of it's mighty 106 HP and 103 lb ft of torque did 0-60 in 9.9. I used to drive a 2006 DX (it was auto) and it was a lot faster than my 99.
