Most German VAs are actually really good (except for anime),the only problem is that things sound wierd because of the awkward German grammar.

There is no direct translation between languages, this is actually a pretty accurate translation, only they said granny smith instead of granny pie.

an example of the not perfect translation, is like this

in english :I'm hungry

in french: I have hunger.

It usually ends up more formal.

What I want to say is that accurately expressing things in German sounds off from time to time because you somehow have to make a -in most cases quite long- German sentence fit into something the length of a shorter English one (e.g the slightly weird "Laaaaaach...en!" at the end.Without the "en" it would be a mistake and would have been a order,not just an infinitive).

@JadeElfen I'm polish, and I have to say that in polish version from all the series only Winter Wrap Up is made correctly but other songs/dubbing generally is awful - the voices are like children, not teenagers (I think mane6 are at least mature), and the translation don't fits too exactly the original and could be done much better

ja, Pinkie ist nach der Synkronsprecherkartei die einzige in der deutschen version, die für ihre Lieder eine andere Synkronstimme hat.

TRIVIA:

1) In der amerikanischen Version hat fast jedes Pony zum Singen eine andere Stimme, das ist für Cartoons bei denen öfters so als bei uns.

2) Die deutsche Version hat mehr Synkronstimmen als die amerikanische, dort wurden viele Schauspieler öfters verwendet (Tabitha St. Germain hat 5 Rollen: Granny Smith, Nightmare Moon, Luna, Zecora, Rarity)

The lyrics in german are really good, and so is the whole dubb stuf, but theres a big problem, since we all know MLPFIM from english synchro, the german voices just doesnt seem to fit the voices we know and love. Its sad, but true. Its very well done... but still, its not perfect...

This dub suprised me actually, after hearing the opening I had lost all hope, but they seem to have put some effort into it, though sometimes the translations are just off and some of the characters, Rainbow and Applejack to be specific, just have the wrong kind of voice actresses.

I would disagree on thinking Dragonball Z is a good anime, it's certainly a classic.

I've read all the manga you named and/or watched the anime version. I also watched both FMA animes.

And I strongly disagree that the german dub is as good as the original japanese.
