i think everywhere its like that isn't it. At least our marketing campaign is being a succesful one to attract ppl from overseas. We do not aim to cater for them twice although many of them seem to come regularly. Howewer in some countries even with a huge advertizing budget ppl seem reluctant to go. Places you mentioned do cater for mass tourism as apposed to Mauritius who goes for selective tourists. Its true those facilities you mentioned are available in the places mentioned but over in Mauritius, the tourists themselves prefer it to be that way. the hotels are simply meeting their desires. Lobster is available in 3* hotels in MRU in the North Coast. Even restaurant like Dragon Vert in QBornes offer that dish on demand. As a Mauritian you should be aware of these.
Hotels do not need sun beds on the beach as thereis all round sun, tourists prefer in house massaging but not outside, even horse ride is available via appropriate bookings at Domaines Les Pailles. We do not wish to compare ourselves to Goa/Costinesti/Ibiza but rather to St .Lucia/ Bahamas/BVA. The policy has worked and the tourist industry is a booming one. FYI the outside world for me is MRI as I am not a Mauritian person but it is my 2nd country as well frm a legal standpoint.
Could be u r right, but tourists in MRI prefer to lie on the beach directly. For them they want to get the 'feeling' of the sand i/o lying on wood/fibre. Indoor Spas are available in hotels to cater for selective tourists. .There is no need in having indoors spas in every corner if there is no demand for use. .A.gain lobsters are not available at beach but other dish is available. Lobster is not a 'Mauritian' dish as such. As a Mauritian you should be better aware of this.
The Mauritian hotels do not have ratings as such. Great you mentioned that Goa as more 5.* hotels than MRI but in the MRI hotels are not to be associated in that league. Rather they would say royalty/excellent/high/ etc...service. Selective Euro tourists know about the ratings (esp from SWT/GER/FRA). In MRI we have the equivalent of 6* and a 7* is on project (guess it will take time). I think you are better aware of this than me anyway.
I think you should write reviews in your Mauritian hotels instead of contenting to write reviews to overseas hotels. After all its your interest as a Mauritian not mine as I am not mauritian. If you do believe you can bring changes, please do so and I am sure that they will be considered. Again MRI hotels would never like to get compared. Shame that as a foreigner I am educating a Mauritian!!!

i went to mauritius for my honeymoon and hand on heart i can ohnestly say it has the best beaches in the world. heaven, amazing country, great weater, great people and best of all great exprience
i have been there for 3 weeks stay in le paradis and afew nice resorts on the north western side and i think that is the best holiday i ever made and i was so sad to leave that heavenly island. One day i will come back again and stay for many months. i love the lagoon so beautiful better than any places i have been.

But the people often get a wrong image of it.
Because tourists often stay in their resorts and don't go out to see the poor people in the villages.
Also, the beautifull forests are disappearing because of the new golf courses, houses, etc.. . And it's a pitty.

We do not aim to cater for them twice although many of them seem to come regularly. Howewer in some countries even with a huge advertizing budget ppl seem reluctant to go. Places you mentioned do cater for mass tourism as apposed to Mauritius who goes for selective tourists. Its true those facilities you mentioned are available in the places mentioned but over in Mauritius, the tourists themselves prefer it to be that way. the hotels are simply meeting their desires. Lobster is available in 3* hotels in MRU in the North Coast. Even restaurant like Dragon Vert in QBornes offer that dish on demand. As a Mauritian you should be aware of these.

Hotels do not need sun beds on the beach as thereis all round sun, tourists prefer in house massaging but not outside, even horse ride is available via appropriate bookings at Domaines Les Pailles. We do not wish to compare ourselves to Goa/Costinesti/Ibiza but rather to St .Lucia/ Bahamas/BVA. The policy has worked and the tourist industry is a booming one. FYI the outside world for me is MRI as I am not a Mauritian person but it is my 2nd country as well frm a legal standpoint.

Could be u r right, but tourists in MRI prefer to lie on the beach directly. For them they want to get the 'feeling' of the sand i/o lying on wood/fibre. Indoor Spas are available in hotels to cater for selective tourists. .There is no need in having indoors spas in every corner if there is no demand for use. .A.gain lobsters are not available at beach but other dish is available. Lobster is not a 'Mauritian' dish as such. As a Mauritian you should be better aware of this.

The Mauritian hotels do not have ratings as such. Great you mentioned that Goa as more 5.* hotels than MRI but in the MRI hotels are not to be associated in that league. Rather they would say royalty/excellent/high/ etc...service. Selective Euro tourists know about the ratings (esp from SWT/GER/FRA). In MRI we have the equivalent of 6* and a 7* is on project (guess it will take time). I think you are better aware of this than me anyway.

i went to mauritius for my honeymoon and hand on heart i can ohnestly say it has the best beaches in the world. heaven, amazing country, great weater, great people and best of all great exprience

i have been there for 3 weeks stay in le paradis and afew nice resorts on the north western side and i think that is the best holiday i ever made and i was so sad to leave that heavenly island. One day i will come back again and stay for many months. i love the lagoon so beautiful better than any places i have been.
