Skrillex isnt a dubstep artist for all those hating on him, he started out as a metal artist in a band then moved on to electro/house music, he doesnt actully produce much dubstep.

The only reason people hate skrillex is because in the U.S., he's the artist that's broke his way into the mainstream the most. Therefore, Skrillex pretty much represents the entire dubstep genre in America, to the people who have no idea what it is. There are a lot of different styles of dubstep, and what skrillex produces is just one of those types. But I can still see why so many people hate him. They just don't want his style to represent the entirety of dubstep.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Skrillex but I also have a very broad taste in EDM from hard filthy dubstep like Parametic to more upbeat house stuff like Avicii to liquid drum and bass, moombahton, etc. I hate it when people think less of you simply because you listen to Skrillex, but I also hate it when people listen to ONLY skrillex, even worse when they actually think it's dubstep. (Most of his songs are electro house when you look into it)

@TheOllieFTW I don't know what person you are talking about but there can't be anyone 'better' than him. There is no way someone's music can be better than other music. You maybe just prefer it more. I could love Spor and he could be 'my best' artist. If you say someone is better than someone then that doesn't make sense because if someone/something is better for someone, it may not be better for another person. Long story short, something/someone can't be better than someone, something.

I think skrillex is good but people need to look and find other musicians, because im sure we can both agree there are plenty of good dubstep, drum n bass, electro producers out there. I PERSONALLY think that saying "i know skrillex, i know dubstep" is silly because most of skrillex's dubstep runs at faster then 140 bpm which makes it more drumstep, elctro.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Skrillex but I also have a very broad taste in EDM from hard filthy dubstep like Parametic to more upbeat house stuff like Avicii to liquid drum and bass, moombahton, etc. I hate it when people think less of you simply because you listen to Skrillex, but I also hate it when people listen to ONLY skrillex, even worse when they actually think it's dubstep. (Most of his songs are electro house when you look into it)
