I'm unhappy with the audio engineer's job at this concert... Not only are many of the instruments not captured, but the few which are captured are unbalanced... and I also hear feedback all too often... It's sad that Ilayaraja's genius isn't effectively captured! :(

Truely this Indian film composer,singer,lyricist & First Asian to score a Symphony with unimaginable 900 Films & 5000 Songs - Deserve it

Bhavadharini's voice is among the poorest I have heard for a professional singer. Its only natural that she got a National award. Anyone else singing the "Barathi" would have done a better job. Just that people "thinK" she did a good job with the song!

i 100%agree with prabhu.he is the ultimate music director but horrible singer. listen to idhayam oru koil both spb and ilayaraja version. listen also thiruvasakam. flute player is singer arunmozhi. yuvn should also stop singing. he spoiled aiyayo song from paruthiveeran with his awkward humming. but no doubt they are superb composers but definitely not good singers.

In order for the likes of SPB, Yesudas and others who have given us countless great songs of Ilaiyaraaja, you have to remember that Ilaiyaraaja has to be a great singer for the singers to emulate when singing the original track. What you heard in "Idhaya Koil" was a rough track by Ilaiyaraaja so he can record the orchestra and add SPB later on(Unavailability of SPB at that time ?).

SPB praises ilayaraja in every forum.have you ever seen ilayaraja appreciating SPB even in one occasion. he was a guitar player in SPB troupe before he became a music director. has he ever said this. he is an ultimate composer. no doubt. but not a good human.(i can justify with lot of examples) because many people feel that he is down to earth. but it is not so

Its nice to see Illayaraja bringing the orchestra back on track. The problem in this clip is Bavatharani, i feel even a squirrel run over by a car will sound better than her singing in this clip. She effortlessly destroyed the classic sung by Janaki.
