  • awesome, very interesting. thanks for uploading. :)

  • Just a minor thing: Io is not actually the moon that orbits closest to Jupiter... there are others but they are much smaller. Io is the closest large moon.

  • Excelent video and the music too. Please can anybody tell what's the background music track name and by whome?

  • My name is io :)

  • Io MOON

  • My cat ran across my keyboard. This is the first video that came up.

  • It's amazing how Jupiter makes its moons come "alive"

  • @LlansleyNinja141 no they r aliens :p lol

  • @LlansleyNinja141 Hi, its the star trek font. All the best!

  • @AggManUK

    Proper name is Crillee, BTW.

  • great!

  • Id like to see them land a rover on Io with a video cam just to see another worlds volcanic eruptions. :)

  • !!! Wonderful

  • great video, keep up the good work

  • Great video. Read about Io in grade school. But recently, I had scary thought; if Jupiter and its other moons heat up Io and create such violent landscapes due to their tidal effects. What will the tidal effects of the upcoming planetary alignment do to our planet. I'm not an alarmist, I'm merely curious.

  • @DysphemisticOptimist The planets have aligned in the past. I don't think it is too much to worry about, if that helps, I hope it did, thanks.

  • Nice video. Those images are a testament to 1960s technology. There was a one-off opportunity to launch a mission that would take a probe to the outer planets. Early on some voices within the scientific community were hoping we might send a very large spacecraft launched by a Saturn rocket, this would have made it possible to send smaller probes to orbit some of the planets it passed.

Unfortunately there was not enough in the budget ....... but Voyager was very successful.

  • Not really a place you'd want to stand on.

  • what is the name of this sound track?

  • AWESOME JOB! I LOVE THESE VIDEOS! THANKS A LOT! =D

Io is one of my favorites, because it's SO ACTIVE! I would love to see more recent images from another new satellite launch, and a probe sent to the surface, if it can be achieved. It's SO beautiful and chaotic, as I might say... =)

  • lol, its Galileo Galilie not Galileo Galileo

  • Is that music saying "oh yahweh" then it says "let there be light". Somehow that seems unfitting for this video.

  • nice video and music, i'm so glad you didn't put rap here.

  • Great video and excellent music.

  • Jupiter is my fav planet. I love seeing it in my telescope!

  • AggMan, I was just asking that if I could download all your space videos, because I promised my students I will bring them in on my flash drive and watch them all if they behave. From: CousinsUK

  • very nice and educational animation, easy to understand, thank you very much!

  • EUROPA was the Nubian Princess of Karnak/Thebes and Luxor. She was abducted by Zeus, and her brother "Prince Cadmus" who founded Karnak introduced and taught the Greeks how to read and write the language lettering of the Hieroglyphic. Later the Greeks and the Romans derived and formed their alphabets from which prolonged to today Europeans and western Alphabets.

Get the TRUTH for the SOURCE--Africans!

  • Stunning!

  • Thanks for watching! All the best! :O)

  • Great stuff!

  • Many thanks! All the best! :O)

  • @AggManUK Great video! I really love to learn about space and astronomy!

  • I think all planet look cool :D

  • IO looks ugly and stinky, Europa looks more awesome.

  • io maybe more than europa or titan harbour life

  • May be, but that's no reason to think Io is lame! In my opinion, I think Io in one of the stunningest moons I have seen. :)

  • That's what sulfuric planets are like -.- Just look at Venus, it's yellow/brownish with a noxious atmosphere...

Also, Io always reminds me of a cheeseball. Cheese is salty. Salt is SODIUM chloride. Io contains sodium gas...

  • Agg, did you notice that at 2:07 when it talks about Sodium, the music also sings says "Soooodium"....

  • 2:04 starts it

  • Did you make your video? :O)

  • Yep it's in powerpoint though but everyone got an A on it anyways. Lol sorry I forgot to contact you when the project was finished. I did it like this if that's ok: I have like several tabs open with videos of your planets in them and they would play whichever they wanted to see. They all loved it but of course, most of the credit is to you! How can I thank you much more? Also if you want I have several pictures of my terraformed planets...

  • Thats great it went so well, thanks for letting me know. :O) What i was actually asking about though, was if you have made a video of your terraformed planets, so i can see them? :O) Make a slideshow of them and post them on your channel. I would love to see them. :O)

  • Can I send them by email though? It's faster and if that's ok with you..

  • Sorry, but i don't like to give it out as i get more than enough mail already. :O) Make a video, with Windows Movie Maker. It's very easy to use and will only take you 20 mins. :O)

  • LOL Great imagination!. Hehehe!

  • Excellent video.

Io may not be a plausible target for investigating signs of life, past or present, but it still is one of the most fascinating, remarkable objects in the solar system.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Thank YOU very much for watching and taking the time to comment! All the best! :O)

  • Does anyone have photographed Io's cloud within Jupiter's magnetic field?

Also, isn't it also called Io Torus? Something like that.

Wanna go picnicking on Io? Ha

  • Yes there are photos of the gas, but they are not normal photos as the gas is not visible to our eyes.

Yes the Io Torus is the doughnut shaped ring of gas surrounding Jupiter from Io's volcanos.

    All the best! :O)

  • I wonder what kind of chemistry brews on Io's surface? A geologist would surely be eager to visit although I doubt that it is a hospitable place to be in. Thanks again for such an informative video.

  • Even with the best of spacesuits you wouldn't last long! Though i think it would be a geologists heaven! :O) Many thanks for watching! All the best! :O)

  • absolutely amazing :)

  • Many thanks for watching! All the best! :O)

  • Why, only teluric moons have formed ?Or does exist one ho is not solid ?Many thank's !

  • Not in our solar system, but i am sure there could be in others. :O)

  • does jupiter attract ios atmosphere?

  • With it size and its distance from Io, Jupiter does pull on Io in many different ways, including the atmosphere. :O)

  • Since Jupiter is a "wannabe star", I don't find it surprising that it's moons are like it's "planets". Same goes for Saturn..

  • Yes, they are often reffered to as minature solar systems. :O)

  • That was really great information on one of the most interesting places in the solar system.

  • Many thanks for watching! All the best! :O)

  • This is really interesting, great vid! Well made too. :)

  • Many thanks for watching and the great comment! All the best! :O)

  • im doing my science project on this moon too! o:

but my video isnt nearly as good

    as this DX

  • LOL! All the best with your project! :O)

  • haha ty :D

  • can i use this for my science project?

  • Yes, of course you can! Thanks for asking, and let me know how you get on. :O)

  • Another nicely done vid sir, Io is a very interesting moon. AssGas.heh heh

  • LOL! Thanks again!!! :O)

  • you should point out that this planet smells like fart.

  • LOL! Maybe it can be renamed to the AssGas moon of Jupiter! :O)

  • Thanx for the vid; well done AggManUK!!!

  • Many thanks to you for watching! All the best! :O)

  • Brilliantly done.

  • Cool video again. The universe always interests me, so much questions unknown. And we are only starting to explore our own solar system.. Amazing what we could find in the future :D

  • Thanks for the comment! :OD I agree about just starting, in reality when it comes to space technology, we are still in the stone age. We have a long way to go, just wish i could live to see it all. :O)

  • Awesome! I love how you add the sound of the Magnetosphere resonance at the end of these. Very cool. Keep 'em coming!
