Just to let everyone know, AF BMT was very easy. Seems very hard while you are there, but after you get to your job, it becomes aparent that it was cake. Don't worry about it and just keep your head up. Get through it and you will be better for it. Well the problem is about telling the full truth is this: they try and disqualify you for anything including things that are not life threatening. I was told by my recruiter they had a guy that was permanently disqualified for being lactose intolerant. That is in no way a life threatening situation infact he can have lactose it just means he has mucus issues when he has lactose.

no but im going to meps soon, ill be doing mechanics so it will be a sooner ship date. were the only jobs available for you in administrative?

@djchad83 Mostly yeah because of my color deficiency. Waivers exist however, but these waivers are the type of waivers that you must be in the Air Force for them to give. I still have a chance to obtain the jobs I want. Right now, I don't mind admin because that means I have the next 4 years to finish my associates degree.

Cyber Systems Operations, I have a friend that was doing that but cross trained into something else (I can't recall right now) He told me the Top Secret Clearance for it took a very long time.

what did you get on your ASVAB?

and whatt score do you have to get to be a MP?

Thanks, I scored a 30 on my ASVAB, but I retook it and scored a 70. When you score 20 points or higher, they make you take a confirmation exam to make sure you didn't cheat. The MP / SF job requires an ASVAB score of 31 - 32 I think, I know it's around there.

One question you must ask yourself is, how is my test taking abilities? Most people like myself are very bad when it comes down to taking an exam under a controlled, timed, strict environment. Take the practice exam on MILITARY(dot)com. However, the best way to raise your score is to study! (get ASVAB for dummies, 20 bucks) Or the book I studied was Mcgraws ASVAB. What part are you finding the hardest on the ASVAB?

I made my decision on joining the Air Force for several reasons, quality of life is better, less deployments (meaning more time to go to college.) I also found some of the jobs a little better or cooler lol than the army. In the end, it's all about likings. Worst comes to worst, a person can always wait till there contract runs out, and join a different branch.
