I use to own one of these boards and I regret ever buying it. I am now using UA pre amps and a motu interface going into logic. I hope you don't waist your money.
Re:VirDIS VS2480 users. Product is called VirDIS (Virtual DISK Image Server) by Advanced Storage Concepts, Inc. Convert VS2480 (.HDD) files/projects into .WAV files from within the PC too! You can master (CD-R Master) to the PC Hard Drive and listen to it back without burning a physical CD-R DISC + more! You can store VS2480 files to a thumb drive if you like, move VS2480 files around your PC just like a word document or .JPG. Search internet using VirDIS and virtualscsi and you'll find it!
Been using two of these for years, never had a problem with them, even with thousands of edits in a single project. Also, you can now hook it up with the PC and use the PC Hard Drive for recording with a product called VirDIS.
I've never had down-time with the Roland VS2480. The sound it killer! 56bit vs.32bit in PC. They keep me in business!
I really liked the 2480 when I had it. I just could not take the converters in the unit. I don't think they make this unit anymore.

It's a great unit. I've recorded many albums on it...for the money, unbeatable.
