  • dedicating 2 road kings for cleans? thats like dedicating a ferrari for fetching the mail from the end of the driveway!!!

  • Been playing the Mark V combo for about 3 months.

I picked it out after many hours of side by side testing and it's been nothing but a joy to play ever since.

  • And now we have the ultimate killing machine!

  • Hello you who filmed this video of Mark Snyder. I learned that the DT will come to Brazil. I would like to talk to petrucci for chat send me the chat site he frequents. I'm a fan. I wonder orkut or twitter mark snyder and john petrucci.

  • To be 26 you´re quite naive :P

  • I think Ill add Mark on facebook and be a creep :)

  • :48. Mesa's sound so good, you wanna hump them.

  • Petrucci didnt have to kill this guy, he did as he was told.

However I don't think Mark put in the rack unit that controls how many people die per minute. I guess maybe JP had his Mesa MarkIV modded to do that........

  • dude jp has a Mark IV C+ the only one in the world come on guitar noob!

  • What kind of pedal is that? That he uses to switch between presets and amps and all that?

  • MIDI switcher.

  • Mark Snyder is a great sound tech, wine expert and all around great guy. And he loves to eat steak at Peter Luger in Brooklyn.

  • who doesnt love to eat steak at Peter Luger

  • vegans

  • lol true true

  • lol just thought id be a pain

  • haha epic answer :p

  • *DROOOOL*

Petrucci's gear is just the best...I WANT IT ALL!!!

  • Un-******ng-real

  • 1:46- "This will be the clean rig" haha

  • holy shit that rig is fucking huge i bet it cost in the market of about $20,000-$30,000

  • 00:47

...id be fucking it too if i had one!

  • Why was the case and pedal board the wrong size? What kind of pro ordering is that?

  • who said pro ordering, its the music industry lol only jokes, u would be bloody pissed off

  • God damn that's fucking sick...I wonder how much he's spent on guitar equipment over his lifetime? (or how much his endorsers have spent rather|)

  • its like disneyland for guitar players!!! equipment, amps, boxes all brand new! with their boxes and plastic wraps sitting around...!!!! let me die there plz!!! LOL

  • not to mention some else is doing all that crap for you!!!!

  • Very nice, almost as good as Rockaway Studios!

  • would love to see a plot of his signal path. would be really interesting after seeing this vid. anyone any clues where i can find his rig signal path expained fully?

  • all we need now, is some cheesy "keep the excitement"-music

  • 00:47 looks wrong

  • he is doing exactly what i would do to that rig

  • People dont need that much shit live lol seriosuly

  • I totally agree with you. Way too much shit...

  • People don't need Ferraris either but they sure are fun!!

  • Miss you Marc!!!!!!!!

  • Mark Is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy crap.... There's easily 30 grand's worth of gear there

  • at least 30 grand! Mesa heads are not cheap, and there are at least 4 of them there!

  • Dude, really.

    5 amps

he says it within the first 30 seconds

"This one is gunna get three roadkings, this one is gunna have two lonestars..."

  • in australia one mesa head, 8000

  • but your forgetting John Petrucci has been with mesa for about 18 years, he probably gets it all the amps for free. Or at least a HUGE discount

  • he's also a wildly successful musician, I'm sure he or his label has the bucks in addition to whatever deal boogie gives him.

  • he is endorsed by them, he gets them completely free.

  • @panamanian911

No one with mesa gets there amps for free. and they dont pay anyone to use there amps either. they get discounts, and lent for clinics and tours. but never for free.

  • @maxbouvrie dude are you stupid, obviously john petrucci gets his amps for free, he brings in sooo much money for mesa

  • He probably gets paid to use them!

  • how do you switch amps, i don't like my peavey's clean, so i was thinking of using like an old mesa for my clean and i wanna know how to switch heads and cabs for cleans

  • Does your peavey have a footswitchable Effects loop? If it does, then you would hook the mesa's Effect send to the Peavey's effect return, and you can just turn on the effects loop and be using the mesa's pre-amp with the peavey's power-amp. You would need a Y-cable to hook up to both amps.

  • I would just use an A/B/Y box, so you can choose either amp seperately or combine them. Guitar into the input, one output to the Peavey, one output to the Boogie.

  • he's humping the cabinet at 0:47, lol!!

  • Who wouldn't ? :)

  • yeah.. guess you're right.... when I get one of those cabs I'm taking it to bed with me.... jaja

  • lmao i swear i thought the exact same thing

  • cute little lone star jaja

  • wow at 1:01 he like basically tosses that high dollar tube beauty on the ground

  • he is going about this very logically, it seems that he's using a send effects into a mixer with dedicated effects and then back in the returns to get stereo perception and a low noise signal.

  • i want one!!!!! *drool*

  • I want 2!! one whole rig for backup =]

  • My brain can't really comprehend the amount of money, time and brains in that rig...

  • me neither!

im going to sell my marshall rack.. just going to buy a marshall non master volume head, a delay pedal and a EQ pedal.. thats it.. just guitar - cable - amp.. im tired of tapdancing lol

  • Good luck with that! I am going to do the same thing quite soon. The best tone comes from a guitar straight into an amp.

  • ...so long as that amp is a Mesa :p

  • Hahaha, Tube amps usually sound better with tube screamers. saying that the best tones have no fx is a little short sighted

  • I don't mean it like that. I'm saying that some people run through dozens of processors for effects and whatnot, and it can SOMETIMES affect your tone in a negative way. JP has it running in a way that bypasses everything not in use. And about the tubescreamer comment, many people mod the TS (including JP) to be true bypass.

  • I think the true bypass mod is only really usefull if you are using the TS as a standalone distortion unit (and who the fuck does that). Its a useless mod in the studio, or when you switch between clean and distorted using a midi pedal controller. Personaly I think the old TS is a great tool for getting a little extra from and amp by setting the gain at 0 and level so that it barely effects volume. Perfecto

  • Actually my Valve king is all tube and it sounds great i don't use any distortions threw it

  • The TubeScreamer is not a distortion pedal, its a overdrive pedal, they are different

  • if i may ask, what are their differences?=)

  • What, an overdrive pedal and a distortion pedal?

A distortion pedal is just that, a usually digital pedal that creates your entire distorted sound. Classic examples are the DS1, BIg Muff, and Rat.

An Overdrive pedal helps a tube amp distort earlier, and improves the overall quality of said distortion. Classic examples are the Tube Screamer, Tube Driver, and the Maxon OD9

  • All examples you said aren't digital. They're all analog.

  • mogami are ok.

But if you wan the ultimate in strong cable with a really good shield you can't past Canare GS-6 with Nuetrik connectors. Solder on by somebody who knows what they are doing not just any hobo with a soldering iron.

  • dude mogami cables are awesome

ive been using the same mogami every day for 3 years and its been through probly a hundered shows

    invest and buy a mogami

  • great tech vid. thanks for posting it.

  • i like this its cool

  • Killer

  • kind of boring, but pretty informative.

  • Soooo much money's worth in that rig! ;)
