There were surfers out at a beach a few miles up the road, I'm not sure where it was. But there is a surf store near the pub, the guy in there could tell you where to go. Definitely take your board if you can, nothing worse than seeing good surf on a field trip and having no board!! As far as skimboards go he's got some decent woodies in there, the 'Xplosion' board at £40 was better than I thought it'd be.
