Ngugi was a drug cheat!!!!! He refused to take an out of comp drug test and announced his retirement coincidentally!

I hate drug cheats too but this is way too harsh an assessment of Ngugi. The Kenyan association had not told their athletes about the new out of competition testing. Ngugi, who was in the Kenyan Army, had foreign strangers turn up on his doorstep wanting a urine sample. Not sursprisingly he refused.

Lloydie beat everyone. This was a field that included the 1989 world's fastest (Ondieki), the European Champion (Buckner), an Olympic steeple medallist (Rowland), future World 10,000champ (Tanui) and of course Olympic champ Ngugi. Lloydie had 3.36 1500 speed, and could also run 2.14 in the marathon.
