my professor used powerpoint for lecture and I wanted to scream. It was not helpful and I didn't do as well in his class. So, I don't recommend it.

I have to agree with the overwhelming consensus about this lecture. Being scholastically brilliant oneself and being pedagogically gifted are two, completely and distictly, different matters. Luckly, I had an excellent ochem professor who was able to engage us and make the subject quite interesting as a subject, not as a weeding class for pre-med majors. This will not serve as a good review for those who are looking to review for their MCAT.

Powerpoints are useless for chemistry classes because you don't learn anything from it. I would just read the book and not ever show up to class if the professor used powerpoint in a chem class. luckly my orgo chem prof teaches in greater detail than this prof. profs that use powerpoint are just plain lazy to use the board and most likely care more about their research then actually teaching a class.

I do agree with Frankfurt28. Slides should come with laser pointing to target slide parts simultaneously with the speech. This way is really boring

What a terrible class... My gosh...

He has just scanned a book and shows the figures, without even taking the work of writing a little on the blackboard or being nice as to show what he is talking about... A teaching lecture is so different to that in a conference... Or is this so?

And then his remarks at the beginning, plus his german like accent......ughhhhh

I agree. But in his defence O-Chem classes in UC schools are dominated by med students who don't care about the subject. Advanced classes get better as non-chemists are nolonger attending.
