  • HAPPY HEINZ 57TH BIRTHDAY, KEVIN COSTNER, AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE!!!

  • They are Scooter Brothers. SCOOTER BROTHERS!

  • every time i watch this movie i always think of robin hood men in tights

  • Americans, doing British parts...

  • he's still trying to be lord of the manner?.. and your still trying to do an English accent! lol

  • Tehee....Morgan's accent :3

Regardless of accents, it still a pretty good movie.

  • He just gave up on the accent halfway through.

  • @inthelight17 It doesn't matter. I'm just saying she doesn't like him and I can see why. Besides, you don't even know my sister. She's not even an actress in the States. She doesn't need to be. She can do what she loves in any country because she does it for the passion and NOT the fame.

  • Comment removed

  • @lmbgemini Like I said I doubt your sister Is going to be famous like Kevin Costner and he did acting for passion too and he became famous for It your sister did not and even If she wanted too she will not

  • This 1991 classic is sure a perfect target for the accent police nutheads. As long as it's in ENGLISH, the accent really doesn't matter. Hell, Arnie played lots of American roles even though his English accent was hardly American, for long as he put on a great show. Same is true for Coster and Slater in Robin Hood.

"I'll tear your heart out with a spoon!!!" LMAO!!!!

  • Why are you guys hating on Kevin Costner?

Tbh I can relate to his behavior, good actor imo!

  • 0:04

    holy shit it's blinkin!!

  • COOL POST!

  • Fuck socialism.

  • was cosner even trying to do an english accent here?

  • @MinorSexualAssault I was wondering the same thing! Sounds like his normal American accent with the old English accent.

  • amazing scene from one of the greatest movies of all time

  • My favorite scene, from my favorite movie. We need more leaders to stand up to the Republicans by saying tax decreases for the wealthy DO NOT trickle down to the middle class. And public schools need more money to pay for better teachers.

  • "Why a spoon cousin?"

  • @rubbers99 BECAUSE IT'S DULL YOU TWAT IT'LL HURT MORE!!

  • " YOU WISH TO END THIS?" ughhhhhh " YOU WISH TO GO HOME?" ughhhhhh.

Kevin Costner is the worst fucking actor!! This whole clip he acts like a complete dildo!!! Why did he throw his bow and then decide to jump on a tree and give a shit speech. His thinning hair and fish lips makes him look like a retarded redneck woodsman.

  • I wish the villain won! Alan was so fucking sexy!!

  • kevin has the worst accent ever

  • @adri6000100 ...he had an accent?

  • this is my favorite part of the whole movie.

  • Why did they have a west country accent when they were in Nottingham? :')

  • Hehe I know a lot of people don't like Costner as Robin Hood but he was the one I watched as a kid and he is still one of my favorite Robin Hoods.=)

So he's got an american accent so what, it's a Hollywood movie with a american actor get over it. ;)

  • @sparrowcrazy so does Christian Slater and I didn't care lol

  • @sparrowcrazy I watched this over 60 times growing up...still one of my favorite movies! :)

  • mmmm'That's my WIFE Crooooone!

  • "And call off Christmas." I'm so going to say that the next time I get really mad...:P

  • IT'S THE PAINTED MAN!!!!!!!!!

  • I liked this movie thanks to Will Scarlett... he had some of the best lines (like the one after the catapult thing succeeded).

My mom loves Kevin Costner, but somehow I don't. I just find most of his performances utterly boring and lackluster. :\ I don't think I've ever seen an actor as wooden and monotonous as he is.

  • fair coment on the accent lol but i`d say this is the best robin hood ever made

  • i think it was suppose to be Nottingham accent but what can i say

  • Since when did robin hood have and american accent?

  • @snowman01890 Kevin Costner, at time of shooting, wasn't able to develop an English accent in time. In fact, they make metion of this in Mel Brooks's "Robin Hood: Men in Tights".

  • @SapphireCrusader1988 - to be fair, English spoken in the Middle Ages (Middle English) would have made very little sense to a modern-day audience. Even the English spoken by Shakespeare's time would have sounded closer to American English. The idea that Robin Hood and his merry men would have spoken with modern-day regional English accents is a romantic myth, rather like all Pirates supposedly speaking with Cornish accents (that myth arose from Gilbert & Sullivan writing 'Pirates of Penzance').

  • Fuck Russel Crowe Patrick Bergin and Errol Flynn, Costner is Robin Hood.

  • i remember liking this movie when i was a kid. I watched it again recently, and what a awful movie.... lol!

  • 99 fletching Lmao, watch this movie then watch. "Robin Hood: Men In Tights"

  • 99 fletching

  • am i the only one who thinks will scarlet/ christian slater is hot??

  • @cellolvr9819 No. :P

  • an arrow through the hand would fukin hurt!!!

  • "And call off Christmas" lulz

  • Kevin Costner kills any movie

  • @HuyendoConAsesinato Waterworld was alright...... but that's about it

  • @JiZz2Xtreme Waterworld was a Total Flop the Best Costner Movie Is the Untouchables & thats Only Cause Sean Connery & Robert DeNiro were So Magnificent! Thank God for Morgan Freeman & Alan Rickaman also who Saved Prince Of Thieves

  • @Deverstater3000 I came here because someone mentioned to me that Cosner's English accent was bad in this movie since I mentioned a lot of American actors have a hard time with it. Now I'm slowly seeing my sister doesn't like him. She is an actress herself.

  • Comment removed

  • kevin costner sucks dicks!

  • he sounds like a girl

  • @Mr123fat

he sounds like a pre-teenage boy

  • Apparently Rickman ad-libbed 'and call off Christmas'

  • wtf is up with that horrific accent?

  • @conwayandwhitmanman He didn't do an accent period. I have read that as the film was being made at an accelerated pace to come out ahead of competing Robin Hood projects in production, the team decided not to spend time with a dialect coach and just went straight into it. It doesn't really bother me, nor does Tom Cruise being the only non-British Nazi in "Valkyrie" or the American accents in "Amadeus." Disbelief can be suspended if the story is engrossing and entertaining.

  • I love Costner to death, but homeboy didn't even try with the British accent.

  • lol that arrow-vision was the dopest thing I'd ever seen in my life when I was ten.

  • My favourite character is Wulf lol, he's so adorable XD

  • You know, I love these "Proclamation" papers. You know, offering x gold for Robin Hood. These papers are so nicely printed... three hundred years before Johannes Guttenberg invented printing.

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • Alan Rickman is perfect! There never has been a better bad guy than he. I love the old witch, too. "Something vexes thee?" Perfect!

  • @marianware Alan rickman should play every VILLAIN'S BOSS or EVIL-SECOND-IN-COMMAND, he's the best even if he does the same thing with every character (since Hans Gruber the only thing that changes in his works is the costume -still he's great).

He's a natural bad guy. Period.

  • @marianware Alan Rickman was in this?!

Now I must rewatch it at once!!!

  • BUT WE GOT NOTHIN TO EAT!!!!

  • Its funny how humanity makes a full circle, even though it is so long ago, it is happening right in front of our eyes in modern day and no one even sees it.

  • this is supposed to be an english accent? sounds like almost no effort was put into it at all

  • Kevin Costner, who?? Ha ha, the real star who steals the show is Alan Rickman, ladies and gents! Sheriff is the best! Rickman is really brilliant!

  • Good stuff.

  • Robin Hood is a time traveler. And he came back to mess with the English, and it also explains American accent.

  • Call off christmas? wut lmao. Whats more of a parody this or men in tights lol.

  • "Something vexes thee?" lol:)

  • 1:29 Aouch!!!!

  • CALL OF CHRISTMAS LMAO just loved that part!!!

  • 1:26 - 1:27 the arrow he pulls out is to small and then it's large. hahaha. plus they both suck in this movie.

  • FOR SHERIFF HIP HIP HURRA

  • I don't think anyone got their accents historically correct. However, the American accent is more archaic than the English accent, making the English accents of the other characters more anachronistic than Costner's. The real problem with Costner is his boring, monotone performance.

  • @liveFinalFantasy The American accent comes from an archaic West Country accent, which is in no way relevant to Nottingham. It's really ludicrous to say his accent is closer to being correct.

  • @MadOldPete Yeah, well, it's not like a 20th century Queen's English accent is more correct.

  • @liveFinalFantasy no-one mentioned Queen's English. but it's definitely closer than Costner's accent, if you must bring it up. Ideally, he should have a Northern English accent.

  • the director behind this is an idiot its like robin just got off the plane from new york

  • why does robin hood have an american accent?

  • Is he actually trying to bring some accent in to this?

  • @SmageliBRANZ its so frustrating isn't it?

  • and call of christmas! :D

  • Theres no love...

  • This was one of my favorite movies as a kid.... now when looking back.... it's not that good.... damn! xD

  • @warmsteel its hell of good, what are you talking about?

  • Love Michael Kamen's score for this.

  • Comment removed

  • Robin hood is just visiting from California.

  • 01:28 not really painful, was it?

  • SO FUCKING QUIET

  • serial mojego dzieciństwa....

  • And here began my obsession wiv the ever ridiculously handsome Sir Christian of Slater

  • @angiebaby506

Whoa. So did mine. :0 I later saw him as a psycho young adult in some film and that contributed to it. XD I've liked him since~

  • @DeltaSilver88

I think that might be Heathers, another great movie of his, he is pretty hot isnt he!? :D

  • @angiebaby506

    Yup. 8D

  • hate on robin american accent all you want, but this movie is way better than the new robin hood..so what if he has a american accent, who gives a shit, its funny coz the brits complain about accents but they should complain about the movie gladiator also, why does a spaniard or roman av british accent, why, same shit in kingdom of heaven, balian was a frenchy wit a british accent,so get the fuck out of here wit your accent complaints.

  • since when is robin hood a yankee?

  • @shanklybg remember a movie called Hook? Remember who played Pan? Robin Williams, an American. Did he do a good job without a British accent? Damn straight. Kevin Costner, same thing. Didnt need an accent to play Robin Hood, he was great.

  • Rise, rise again. until Lambs become lions. ooooo, wrong film.

  • OH NO ...NOT CHRISTMAS!!

  • LOL........I didn't know that Robin Hood had an American accent

  • It is a part very god of robin hood

  • so silly, his American accent is soooo out of place!

  • *breathes* Alan Rickman!

  • 2:59 one of the best arming/building sequences on film. This scene is incredibly inspiring. This film took a very logical approach how the mere veteran of the Crusades is able to turn a corrupt kingdom upside down, and not with great battles or an enormous uprising (except at the end of the film) but by hitting the corrupt government where they hurt most, their purses.

  • does anyone ever notice kevin costner is not really speaking with a english accent? i dont know its just a observation but not sure if it was intentional for him to speak that way.

  • @KillanumEnt The question is, would it be possible to simulate 12th-13th century English on screen, and if we did, would we need subtitles? Even King James English didn't even exist yet, I doubt anyone besides linguists and English historians would even comprehend the film in the accurate historical language.

  • This movie is not stupid, It is in fact the most historically correct Robin Hood adaptation in film history. Their is no other great Robin Hood movie than this one. I love it and I don't expect everyone else too. But understand that it didn't take big hollywood money to make it great. It was great by the actors and trueness to the outlaw Robin Hood.

  • Prince John: And why should the people listen to you?

Robin Hood: Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent.

  • I had the end fight scene of this movie, karate kid 1, and Star Wars Return of the JEdi, and fucking gay tube (youtube) disabled it again. Wth?! you and other people get their clips to stay up.I am not hatingon you just damn youtube.

  • I liked this movie as a kid, but Kevin Costner ruins it for me now.

  • BUT WE AINT GOT NOTHIN TO EAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:14 What DID they do to the boy

  • AND CALL OFF CHRISTMAS!

  • Ist es nicht ein wunderschönes Gefühl...einer alten Frau die Knochen zu brechen ?

  • The weapon-making montage is excellent, and the movie itself is pretty good -- all except for Costner. He's awful, looks goofy, sounds worse. If Cary Elwes had played the part instead, this would have been a much better film.

  • @Vortigern99 So true.

I used to love this movie, it's still one of my favorites even if kevins american accent destroys alot of it, and I am agreeing about Cary Elwes, the movie would have been alot better if he had played the part of Robin.

But then again the movie did have one big winning point in having a great actor in the role as the sheriff of Nottingham, Alan Rickman rules in roles like that.

  • @SilvaraDragontear Oh yeah, Rickman is great and overall the film is very good. With Costner, it's not the accent that's the problem IMO -- after all a 12th century Norman English accent would be a far cry from a 20th century Queen's English accent -- but rather the flatness, the monotone of his delivery. Also, his lack of a chin annoys me, as does the clearly modern hairdo.

  • @Vortigern99 The casting of Costner had nothing to do with ability, it was a tactic to sell the film to the public. The film really only had one movie star, which was Costner (technically 2, but Sean Connery was only seen at the end of the film,) the rest were actors, and good ones at that. Hollywood is, in the end, a business, and movies need to make money, that's likely the only reason Costner was cast.

  • the REAL Robin Hood!

  • Sheriff storms in,

    "something vexes thee?"

    LOL

    5:32

  • Amazing to think this is a true story. Can't believe Hollywood messed with it and changed it for the Crowe movie.

    Don't mess with our history.

  • @jamesstafforduk Robin hood is folklore man.

  • @jc2333 I hope he was joking when he said Robin Hood was real history... LOL...

  • Amazing to think this is a true story. Can't believe Hollywood messed with it and changed it for the Crowe movie.

    Don't mess with our history.

  • @jamesstafforduk ` don`t mess with our history` LOL - it`s only a fookin film man - get over it . Crowe film directed by Sir Ridley Scott ....

  • @leonaofficial True that, people should stop expecting films to accurately portray history. Take Braveheart for instance, it is probably one of the least accurate films ever made. Take Robert the Bruce for example, he was not some young visionary with low self confidence, he actively fought against Scottish independence until he had ensured that he alone would sit on the throne. The Scottish nobles cared nothing of Scottish independence, they only cared about power, just like the English nobles.

  • why does everyone have an English accent except for Robin Hood? LOL hes talking like hes from Alabama

  • @asd910ddm rumor has it he tried to do an english accent and everyone laughed at him. if you watch robin hood men in tights there is a line said even I can speak with an english accent its poking fun at costner.:)

  • @asd910ddm haven't you seen the beginning of the movie? He was in the south for a long time.

  • @asd910ddm Heh, it's probably better to have no accent than a poor imitation of one that calls attention to itself. It's not too bad though since someone of that time period wouldn't have spoken with what we consider an English accent anyway.

Of course, in certain media, even characters like Romans tend to speak with English accents for some reason. Perhaps Shakespeare is to blame for writing so many plays about Romans, Italians (verona), Scots, etc. and putting on the plays in English.

  • This movie was awful, still is awful. Kevin Costner (whom I liked a lot in The Untouchables) is terrible here. It seems like this is the movie that got him on a roll of even worse movies, such as Waterworld and Postman. I've seen TV sitcom episodes that felt more realistic. I love how Costner's "accent" is all over the place.

  • christian slater. lol. o, and morgan freemans sword is awesome.

  • "What we don't have the forest will provide. We will eat twigs and wood and hide in the trees"

  • morgan freeman made this movie awesome

  • alen rickmen is the only person who could cancel cristmas and completely serious

  • @BranscomeINC lol

  • Roll on Ridley Scott & Russell Crowe

  • The only saving grace to this stupid politically correct movie is the evil sheriff and the old witch something vexes they

    lol

  • @kacplaymyst AGREEEEE THE SHERIFF IS SIMPLY FANTASTIC

  • Gawd, is he terrible

  • 0:14 that scared me as a kid
