  • George Michael's hit a new low.

  • I'm getting one of these for my company car. They're crap inside, filled with cheap materials and awful design cues. The outside looks good. Why they couldn't carry this forward. Frustrating this is I am paying tax on 21k which is the list price, who in their right mind would pay that for an astra??? who? Hello bmw heres my 21k, no sir, we only ant 19k for a better spec 1 series. A vw jetta is a far better car, I know I have driven both, 18k same spec. Vauxhall, sort it out!!!!

  • @parnol No. The new Astra, OPEL ASTRA NOT USA SHIT, Has good Materials. I has drive one. Very GOOD Quality!!!

  • @parnol Ehm, the new VW Jettta product from MEXIKO! Import to Germany!!! Shut up, VW is cheap

  • I'm from America so I don't get to see this. Even though the Buick Verano will be a precursor to the Astra Sedan.

  • @superjta59 Opel Astra is a GERMAN Production. Good Quality. Better Design. Your shit compare BUICK for the Ass.

  • @bennicool888 Opels do have better production quality to Buicks. The Astra does kick more ass than the Verano. Why? Because the Verano is a Chinese import, as well as also taking elements from the Chevrolet Cruze.

  • @superjta59 Yes but, the new Astra J has GOOD Quality Materials and others. The Astra H (Older) has good Materials better than Toyota Auris! But not so good than VW Golf. But the new Astra is very modern an the beautiful Car ever in his Class

Verano? I has the Car seen on Google, and it is not the same than the Astra J! It has BIGGER Lights, shit Materials, and NO German QUALITY

  • @bennicool888 Apparently you're right. The Verano just doesn't feel the same. The Germans know how to do it right.

  • @superjta59 Im from Germany. And the most Peoples here says: "Opel is the biggest shit!" and other things. Yet, with the Insignia and new Astra the most People says: "WoW! Opel is back!"

  • @bennicool888 Oh yeah! What you just said touched me. Opel really is the biggest shit!

  • @superjta59 No its not!! Opel is very good in last years. The Insignia has won over 40 prices in Quality & Design

The Insignia has won in Germany than the newest Mercedes C-Class

  • @bennicool888 I know that the Insignia won 2009 European Car of the Year and a bunch of other awards. Opel has had several good cars like the Kadett and Vectra. Yet the current Astra and Meriva as well as the Insignia are better.

  • @superjta59 Yes, and much more. Opel is not bad in last Time!!! We drive an Opel Astra Caravan from 2004 and its look like a new car everytime. Old and new Models are very good.

    Opel is not OPEL

  • @bennicool888 That is correct, Opels do look new even after years of driving through harsh elements, my friend.

  • @superjta59 Then, why you say Opel is shit?

  • @bennicool888 Opels are not shit, they're awesome.

  • @superjta59 I drive an Insignia :D:D:D:D:D

  • @bennicool888 Awesome! :D :D :D :D

  • It's a shame that 90% of all Astras sold, will be the base trim with unicycle wheels covered with horrendous hubcaps and an agricultural diesel engine under the bonnet. Real shame. Because, the black SRI Turbo on 19-inch rims in the video, looks very handsome indeed, even though it's a CGI Astra.

  • I didn't know so much shit could be talked about a car.

  • IT ISN'T A VAUXHALL THAT IS A OPEL!!!

Inginered and designed from OPEL only the ugly sign from vauxhell is on the front.

Be ashamed to say it is a vauxhall. Shit GM

  • can understand one thing, why they had to do special brand for uk..are they so dumb and selfloving that they need brand just for them..

    pathetic

  • @sharky0922 No. why would they sell it as an opel, when vauxhall is a british brand. It's been around for more than a century. It's hard;y a special brand if its been around for so long...

  • @joshualewis71 its opel . its opel everywhere, question is why british market is so special that they need their brand?

  • @sharky0922 well, GM designed it, GM own opel and vauxhall. When it came to selling the car, they said in europe itll be opel. when they came to sell it in the uk, they sold it as vauxhall

    reasons:

1)Opel doesnt exist in uk, so even if they wanted to, they couldnt sell it as one

    2) they own vauxhall, which is an established, well known uk brand

    3) Why set up opel in the uk, when vauxhall is already there (pretty much sell the same cars anyway)

Its as much a vauxhall as an opel, bcos its A GM CAR

  • To be honest, for all the talk about sweeping designs and eagle/hawk-like qualities (didn't know Bill Odie was on the design board) this is really a boring car. You should do more than look to the older models for inspiration. Re-release the older models with newer mechanics. That would be cool.

At least you didn't claim the roving headlamps as your own idea. Preston Tucker did those on the 1948 Tucker Torpedo, they're also found on the more successful 1967 Citroen DS (Standard on the Pallas).

  • '

    oh no no thank,,,

    i dont like this car,,,

    not worth it

  • @bestamerica The Opel Astra has won the "red dot design award" and "the golden wheel 2009" and VW?

The Opel Insignia: "Car of the year 2009" "red dot design award"

    VW? :D:D

  • MUCHHHH better then the new american friendly focus, this should sell a lot in europe

  • astra sRi with exterior pack loookss much much better, vauxhall have gone backwards...

  • Has a lot of the look of the Fiat Bravo from many angles esp the rear, to be honest....

  • @flyingscotno1 The Opel Astra has won the "red dot design award" and "the golden wheel 2009" and FIAT?

The Opel Insignia: "Car of the year 2009" "red dot design award"

FIAT? YES A TOM TOM NAVI :D:D:D:XDXDXDXD FIAT HAVE NOTHING WITH OPEL!!! FIAT IS BORING

  • beautiful car, very underrated. I think my 2.0CDTi sri is just great - don't listen to what car snobs like Jeremy Clarkson say - Vauxhalls of today bear no relation to some of the design disasters of yesterday. I wonder what some of the tossers who panned this car drive?

  • overrated :/

  • you are vicepresident for what? design for all Vauxhall vehicules? Vauxhall doesn't exist. ! there is only Opel. Vauxhall is just a name backed by nothing. It's for the brits so they can fell important. I think you're vicepresident for jack shit!

  • @aloneandimmortal Its a vauxhall HAHAHAHAHA

  • he probably drives a Ferrari lol

  • i bet HE doesnt drive one though!!!

  • nice car, but not worth £21,000 new! the back window is far too small, the mirror gets in the way a it does in the H, visibility is quite poor and the position of the indicators hides them from other cars. some features are good, but it is still the H chassis and engines underneath. poor value for money, expensive to insur at group 16 for a diesel 1.7 and too expensive for the tax band.

i would buy a focus instead, it is a better car.

  • looks lush though. But like every other vauxhall. You need to buy a top spec one for it to look anywhere near nice on the inside.

  • i agree, a basic 1.7 diesel 125 BHP costs £21,000. Add a few extras like satnav, stability control etc and you are looking at £23995. For that sort of money you can buy a much better car. You should see the amount of faults with the new one already. I hope it is not as bad as the toyota!

  • Vauxhall doesn't have a great image in the u.k though. I think making everything Opel would be more cost efficient and might do the brand a bit of good.

  • ..... except perhaps for the British.. LOL

  • @cfodk What did Denmark ever give to the world?

  • @techwork diesel guzzling maersk ships... :P

  • Using the brand "Vauxhall" is a joke. Everyone knows its an Opel.

  • @cfodk the car is made in Britain you f----ing cretin - that's wht it's called Vauxhall. If it was made in Germany it would be an Opel.

  • stop talking shite....

  • This car is jaw dropping. This is a car to add to the wish list!

  • Mark Adams made a bloody georgeous car didn't he!?

  • I don't understand, how is he a Vauxhall designer when Vauxhalls are Opels with a different badge?

  • He is simply both - the head of OPEL/VX design

  • @GchadB Vauxhall and Opel are essentially the same company owned by GM. They're badged Vauxhall in the UK to appeal to British buyers as the company used to be an independent British brand. I think the Vauxhall badge gives the Astra a classier appearance than the plain Opel badge.

  • does anyone think he needs to get a life?

  • @sweetness2follow No-just you

  • Astra Rules!!!!!!!!
