something about this clip reminds me that every time I heard Ms Price live, she sent shivers up my spine with that beautiful, vibrant sound - very viseral - recording NEVER capture the great voices - how could they, they are god-made, recording is man-made.

I usually love Ms Price but I find her recit lacking direction especially as she emphesises the end of words ie. Sesto soccorso etc. I also don't see much expressions on her face. She makes me nervous as if she's going to forget a line. Piangero the 2nd time is much better phrased.

with a voice like hers, you don't have to! :-P she expresses through her flawless voice, and doesn't have to make up for lack of voice through cheesy acting. the voice comes first. the singers of the golden age stood still and sang.
