HardTrance took a dump, thats how Hardstyle was born.. in other words Hardstyle is still more worthy than any other genre of music but fails in comparison to HardTrances Magnificence

Hardstyle came out around 2000 and was very similar to hard trance but with more dark sounds such as derb and kai tracid stuff and then all the reverse bass /tech, techno sounds came in with gabber kicks or more softer hard trance kicks. there is a bit more to it ofcourse. it was not until around 2007 that it changed with all the melody crap. still the odd good track though

I say hardstyle is in between hard trance and hardcore... Hardtrance is just trance with a hard bass. Cosmic Gate , Scott project were one of the best back then in 90's and begin 2000's
