  • will this work with just a sheet of copper? I can get a sheet of copper (like 12x12 inches) cheap.

  • Everyone either thinks this is fake or believes that Lenz's Law is in effect. Read the description people, a second magnet is under the copper plate. You are looking at one magnet opposing another one. It is not fake, there is no EMF, just two magnets. How could so many people be so ignorant?

  • The fact that there is no motion tells us that Lenz’s Law is not in effect, therefore your argument is invalid. A second magnet is clearly underneath the copper plate, and its field is directly opposing the field of the magnet on top of the plate. So, while your statement would be correct if the magnet were being levitated by an induced EMF, this is not the case. What you speak of is not what is being shown.

  • Where in the world did you obtain that block of copper. It's gorgeous. :)

  • this is how the japanes make trains :D and this is also how the trains go 10000000000 MPH (plus or minus a FEW miles an hour)

  • @tommyv166123 lol 15 times the speed of light, I think Einstein might have missed that train :)

  • someones under it with another magnet

  • @CBfromtheJB No shit Sherlock. Notice how the description says "another magnet."

  • WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA!

  • how long until cars can do this?

  • We have a UFO suspect pending

  • But will it blend?

  • what are the materials, one of them is copper, the other?

  • @straighter100 NdFeB magnets, nickel plated.

  • this is not friggin fake lol....

  • in other words . This is fake .

  • @1paardenkop Take a science class or just google something. Educate yourself, this is not fake

  • @timecrashzero Sorry to break it to you but i am following physics in my master . And i can tell you with certainty that unless that copper is suppercooled , the electric currents in the coppers will have to much resistance to keep producing a counter magnetic field. Maybe you are the one who should educate yourself. And if you're trying to prove me wrong , give me then at least decent proof . then i will call CERN and tell them that what they thought was wrong...

  • @1paardenkop They said what they did in the description... Which is not what you're saying they did. That's why people are saying you're wrong.

  • this isnt fake you dumbbells

  • @endoedgar Indeed,it is not fake,it's Scientastic!

  • Spin it!

  • This is not fake. Or at least it can happen. When a strong magnet is moved near metal, the magnet induces an electric current in the metal. This electric current causes an opposing magnetic force to be induced, decreasing the acceleration of the magnet.

    Not fake.

  • @ZeGogglesPlex

True but it will only slow down its accelaration. The electric currents will dissapear ( unless you supercooled the copper ) once the magnet is balanced. If you are trying to be smart , do it right ...

  • @1paardenkop Wow, dude, your ignorance is really on display here. The stationary nature of this setup should tell you that there are no electric currents. The description states that there is “another magnet.” If I were you I would not claim to be so smart when you can’t even read the description and grasp what it is that you are seeing. A magnet opposing another magnet with a copper plate in between them. If YOU are trying to be smart, you fail.

  • now cut the wire above the magnet

  • Fake

  • your mom levitates on and off my cock bitch

  • fake

  • That copper block has got to be worth a pretty penny :-)

  • pfft yoda can do that with the force >_>

  • @alextheasiangamer Sure that with force yoda can do

  • How do they work?

  • @LeLimeLine Check Vsauce2: Leanback #5 magnets

  • Wondering if mica or micah? Holds the same properties of copper? or similiar?

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

  • so, there is a magic wand just out of shot (above the shot)?

  • wat da hell

  • Magnets: How do they work?

  • Sir, we have just seen an Unidentified Flying Object...

  • @iGamingRecon no... it's identified.

  • G-g-g-g-g-ghost!!!!

  • magnets are cool

  • That is a wood table and you have a magnet above it or it would not be moving up and down and you can see your shadow move when it goes up and down.

  • That is a wood table and you have a magnet above it or it would't be moving up and down and you can see your shadow move when it goes up and down.

  • @BIGORANGEHUNTER

the fuck kind of wood table do you have? Its definately copper.

  • roads should be made out of copper and cars out of Neodymium . Some dubai billionaire will do it and we'll have levitating cars lol

  • @FibrousAcquiescence why do you want levitating cars? they'd be horrible and slow

  • Comment removed

  • @FirewallAndFlush Not with jet propulsion. Levitating cars could be extremely fast compared to cars where rubber has to be on the ground.

  • @milodaman2 there's a reason we don't have flying cars, most of that reason is efficiency the rest is the unfortunate Newtonian physics prevalent in the real world

if you think cornering is hard in a normal car try it with no connection to the ground

it's entirely impractical, that's why hovercraft have largely been abandoned as a method of transport except for very specific purposes

also, a car levitating in the manner demonstrated here would have massive magnetic forces to contend with as well

  • I started my search at "big tits" how i came here?

  • @TOBIjenster Well... it could have been worse. Last week I started a search for videos about cars... some how I ended up on a video of an animated llama dancing while grinding on a pole... I think it came from japan... which would explain why it was so creepy.

  • OMG, its a UFOOOO!

  • we can see the shadow of your hand =)

  • So that's how ufo's work...

  • AHH THAT WHEN ELCTRICITY COMES INTO PLAY THEN NVM I KNOW HOW TO MAKE THINGS LETS PUT IT LIKE THAT

  • its like magic o_o

  • This is kid stuff, but many are unaware of this force other then with a magnet in hand. They too are unaware that planets have magnetic fields.Future space flight will use the planetary magnetism, for thrust perpulsion and repulsion. No fuel tanks needed.

  • Guys this is all cool nut yet it's fake. Eddy curents can suspend a magnet for a few seconds Over copper with an insanely strong magnet but not forever, I've used this property before but it's more like pushing something through a rub of molasses sorry

  • @geekkid34

It's not eddy currents. It's a weak diamagnetic repulsion of the magnet by copper, assisted by a strong magnet out of frame above. The strong magnet is providing maybe 99.9%of the lift, and you can see the demonstrator "finding" just the right distance for the assist magnet, and backing off just before the visible magnet would jump up hard.

  • ...

    IT'S SATAN!

    :O

  • ufos work on the process of spinning frictionless super fluid to manipulate gravity.

  • just don't get your fingers inbetween the magnets, don't want to lose em.

  • FAKE!

  • @kenboy117 *sigh* how?

  • there is another magnet on the top you manipulate it

    i am right

  • thats how ufos work ! :O

  • the first step probably to hover tec tranportation

  • yay! i can play air hockey now =DDDD

  • How heavy is that block of copper?

  • @some5672 It is 8 KG

  • @waynet68 sell it copper is worth a shit ton a pound

  • @waynet68 have you tried putting something with weight that isn't magnetic on the magnet and doing it. an example of doing so would be trying to create a structure to hold both magnets apart while the magnet can still levitate if you hold it in balance. i doubt it could happen, but it would be a nice experiment. wish i could try such a thing but 2 pennies are a rare thing for me to be able to rub together.

  • Comment removed

  • @waynet68 How many pounds?

  • this could be another reason for why people are seeing ghost picking up stuff, it could just be a magnetic problem.

  • Dropping on aluminum and copper plate magnets, eddy currents are generated toward the plate. Velocity will change as a result of the magnet.上から磁石で引っ張ることでバランスを取ってるのでしょうか?GJ

  • is the copper block doing anything to help it levitate that smooth?because usually i cant do that with magnets

  • wow. there is just another magnet tat attracts the magnet over d other magnet or another magnet under tat repels the other 1. most likely 1 tat attracts.

  • copper roads + magnets undercars = flying cars

  • @tristram599 Yes, but now all we and/or you need to do is send a note to the government or your Governor and tell them. >:D

  • Very cool

  • Cool, but how did you afford a copper table? That stuff is expensive. Was the other magnet above or below? thanks.

  • hahahhahaa where the fuck did u get the box of copper :P

  • It would help if you placed a wrist watch or other common item on the copper, well away from the magnet, to give scale to the size of your parts.

  • were did you get such a big piece of copper?

  • Watch out hoverboards, here we come lol

  • fake

  • Wingardium Leviosa!!!!

  • I can totally see the string. Gravity fail!

  • can you build a stand and levitate that indefinitely?

  • OMFG you are a millionaire with that much copper!!!

  • Im guessing magnet under the copper with the opposite polarity to push it up?

  • How much did that copper cost?!?

  • Who knows perhaps homo's like copper!

  • @TheJimmax its true, we love it, is so pretty OwO and kinda sorta shinyish

  • żal mi ciebie

  • ITS ALIVE

  • so, there is another magnet just out of shot (above the shot)?

  • @hydrox24 Yes there is one up there

  • @waynet68 put it on a scale and see if the weight changes. LOL

  • @waynet68 why doesn't it just flip over?

  • @waynet68 thanks for your honesty. Very cool video!

  • @waynet68 So why you didn't show it? To make it look more fun?

    just a q.

  • @hydrox24 Yep, the other magnet is pulling it up, but the copper is acting as a brake which prevents the magnet from loosely and freely flying upward.

  • That copper bullion bar reminds me of an Apple Mac Mini. Cool!

  • strings!

  • Physics has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

[Send Error Report] [Don't Send] [View Report]

  • Physics has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

"Send error report" or "Don't send"?

  • HE IS USEING STRINGS!!!!!

  • HE'S A WITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • suck on that harry potter!

  • You know if you used a simple oscillator, an electromagnet, a micro controller, and some sort of a sensor you could build a small machine to control the levitation. Just set the microcontroller to adjust the oscillator based upon the reading from the sensor.

  • @kurisu925 I actually have one of those floating picture frames which I can float a magnet with out the copper. The copper would make it very stable though. I might make a video of it.

  • Why do I have the sudden urge to buy a large copper block?

  • There is a Nd magnet under the copper piece that moves up and down.

  • FAKE. It's a poltergeist.

  • It all starts so primitive... Sound recording, electric light, airplanes, telegraph, the list goes on. We can never know where things like this will take us. Hover cars? Well, maybe. They'll have to fold themselves into a briefcases before I'm impressed.

  • Can this levitate over Iron/coal/addy or rune?

  • @TheFedoraProduction dude this isnt runescape. coal isnt even a metal. its a fuel source in a way.

  • @failagecarninja I was kidding! But thanks for caring! XD

  • nice video, How high were you able to get the magnet to levitate off the plate at your best guess? Thank you and great video 5 stars.

  • @DIOSpeedDemon It gets pretty unstable about an inch or so above the copper. It wasn't quite that high in this video.

  • @waynet68 have you tried levitating it with the copper bar between the magnets?

  • @kurisu925 I haven't tried it, but I think it should be possibe to levitate a magnet under the copper bar when it is in the middle.

  • @waynet68 What if you tried placing a copper bar both above and below the magnet that was to be levitated Wouldn't that provide even more stability?

  • @kurisu925 OK, I just tried it inbeween my copper bar and my aluminum bar, it is very easy to control but still requires control as expected.

  • @waynet68 Where did you get you'r copper bar by the way? I have a few ideas of my own I would like to try. I cannot seem to find just a plain copper bar any where. I keep finding etched ones.

  • @kurisu925 I got mine on eBay. Search for copper bullion bar. The one I have is 8 KG

  • @DIOSpeedDemon he cant levitate it more because the magnetic field is not as uniform as at this height

  • how are you levitating this?

  • I see you mined some unobtanium. How did you get past the Navi?

  • i love magnets.

  • hah.. funny, now i know how David COPPERfield levitate things..

  • COOL

  • All of y'all that think there is a string there's not it's just another magnet btw where the fuck did you get the copper block from

  • @monstermiataman I got it on eBay, do a search on copper bar.

  • @waynet68 how much do they cost on ebay? i need them to level my blacksmithing, or would it be cheaper just to buy copper ore and make the copper bars?

  • @waynet68 Copper bar is $1.00, shipping is $90. LOL

  • @waynet68

    3g per stack?

  • @waynet68 Not enough swearing in your reply...

  • @monstermiataman Go mine some copper and melt it into a copper bar!

  • @monstermiataman -You sounded almost human, till you added the,...y'all,....and the...fuck......Were YOU taught to speak like this? Do you think that it is 'cool' to speak in the manner?Do you try to act tough, because you always liked lace, and underware made of lace? It's OK so did Houdini. And wearing a garter belt and nylons under your pants is too OK.Yea,YOU say it is to keep warm, but in July??? You were seen in a men's room,..it;s OK.

  • @billy1212ist WHOA dont try to get me invovled in your weird fetishs if you like to wear womens lingerie thats your business so leave it off of youtube

  • if roads were made of copper would hover cars be possible???

  • fake and gay, see the string at 0:00 up to 0:50 and the shadow on top. cant anyone see this is fake and gay? (the shadow and the camera because the camera is close to the table and the shadow on top of the table)

  • copper is a opersit of evry magnet lot's of big lumb's of copper can make any magnet float

  • jeese how much did that block of copper cost? $500

  • how the hell did that happen?

  • So fake. Everybody knows ghosts are making it levitate.

  • hehe looks like a ufo :3

  • At first I was like "Wtf, room-temperature super-conductivity?" But then I read the description and was more like "Ah, inducing. That's pretty badass."

  • Dude that thing is levitatering....

  • It does work at home! Nice trick.

Just have a magnet pulling up out of camera shot. The copper block damps the magnet motion making this work better.

  • do you see the magnet going in circles there a magnet a little higher

  • fake it wouldent float up and down and plus if it would float it would stay at a solid stance above the copper

  • @crazymindfreakdude man , you are crazy , he is moving the other magnet , to get control which in turn would make it float up and down

  • slap a skateboard deck on it and youve got.... i cant think of what its called......

  • don't touch your NES with that magnet........you'll regret it if you do.

  • fake

  • how the hell did you get a copper plate that big, must of been pricy.

  • thats sweet

  • hi you should watch my video on mag levitation, and use scales, intresting to see what results you might get guy.

    thom in scotland.

  • u can see the string

  • you can see the shadow from arm ,he is holding magnet in hand , and somehow slowly taking the magnet in arm down, and when its already flying the magnet on the copper , its says in description :)

  • i think this only works when there is another copper plate above the magnet plus a magnet above that plate in the air.

  • So bottom line...... you work with magnets?
