  • great vids bro. new sub. im new to battlefield and loving it. all your points are great and i agree. have you done any follow ups on these issues in other videos? since the game has been out so long now.

  • I totally agree with this guy. The flash lights are annoying, and for people who say look into a flash light it is not the same. We aren't looking directly into a flashlight while playing, it happens several yards away, same with laser pointers. They hardly help with actually lighting or helping the player aim better, it just blinds people. And am I the only one who hates the lighting in general? I can barely see because it is like the sun is constantly in your face.

    The game rules but they need to fix it.

  • If we're going to take it to the level: "Look into a flashlight IRL" and that it is realistic, let's take a look at getting shot in the chest by a 50.Cal bolt action sniper rifle, it would literally destroy your fucking torso, and in this game it still takes 2 shots, think about that.

    Yeah, flash(flesh)lights are annoying as fuck, but I believe when Back to Karkand comes out they'll be getting nerfed.

  • the glare is fine..as long as you have it really in "realistic moments" not when you're alone in the dark...the flashlight is fine as well.... most of you guys maybe haven't had a chance to have a tactical flashlight used by the army or S.W.A.T. flashed on your face from 6 to 16 feet away..you'll be blinded even in daylight :) it absolutely needs some more nerfing but yeah..constructive criticisms are great :)

  • for the sniper glare i think it would be a good idea for dice to change it where the glare occours when your looking at a sniper at a x amount of distance and the sniper turns around then the glare happens since the light would reflect into your eyes for a brief second

  • I agree with you on some points, flashlights are overdone in this game, but the riffle glare i am fine with. Recon has more than enough tools to keep himself alive and spot targets without exposing his head. SOFLAM makes for an excellent spotter for you or even the mav as they are both remote. I like to find a spot, send out the mav, spot a target, land the mav, take the shot. That's just me though.

  • I like the indoor/night-time idea of flashlights, but it shouldn't last FOREVER, it should be bright for like a second and then start to dull, like ur squinting. but for outside, I totally agree, the only flashlights that can blind you mid-day need a car battery power source. As for lasers... well not much can be said for the "most realistic fps" when by some miracle the enemy can steadily point a beam of light into your pupil, but their bullets don't IMMEDIATELY HIT THE EYE

  • As far as Recon goes I feel like you left out the fact that the Recon class has been extremely nerfed. The general conception is that the Recon class is overused and overpowered but when you think about it, the Recon has had no reason to have things like extreme sway added and quite frankly its pointless. Recon snipers may get a lot of kills but they contribute nothing to the actual game, they don't capture objectives, and barely defend them. All they have is their K/D ratio and a ton of losses.

  • I agree completely but I think it should only glare when they are look in your general vicinity.

  • i think a sort of glare sheild/visor/sun glasses perk would be nice. It would help outside, and also stop those pesky flashlights.

  • I never had any sort of problem with playing as a Sniper or against an other player being a sniper. I personally like the the glint they way it is because all the moronic snipers will get killed because of it while the more skilled snipers will work around it. What I noticed in the beta was that snipers will look down their scopes non-stop once they get in place and just sit there, giving themselves away. Don't look down your scope the whole time and go to your pistol if you want to be hidden.

  • I have played the beta on 360 and it seems to me that Operation Metro is way to bright outside. It just looks blue and on the first pair of Mcom stations and white on the fourth pair. The inside looks perfectly clear and crisp. I set the brightness settings for the beta to the recommended setting and it is still too much. Dice just fix this minor problem and this game will just be that much better. :)

  • I think the game is fine how it is. When its light out and your playing someone with a flashlight all you see it a little glowing light. so you know its an enemy. So I think it does give their position away.

  • you can see the guys wth flash lights really far away in dark spots when they cant even see you yet i see this as a counter. dont you think??

  • They actually make anti glint scope covers, I know that atleast the British Army's snipers utelize them. Maybe DICE have included them in the full game as an unlock.

  • i like your idea for the sniper scopes, it can be very annoying trying to counter-snipe and i'd like something (just a bar that grows/shrinks) on my hud telling me how much light im giving off

  • how to balance the flash light, give it a power bar that diminishes when its used and at max charge last's about 30 seconds and when your not using the flash light it recharges tacking one minute to recharge (and its less useful outside)

    this means people wont be able to just spam it and will have to use it tactically

  • another thing that annoyed me about the lasers was the fact that when you look down your sight, the laser is pointing where your sights are, but when you are hip firing, the bullets go nowhere near where the laser points.

  • I agree that the flashlights can be OP in CQ (close-quarters), but at Medium Distance and possible far (if you can see it) its as simple as "shoot the big bright light that running really fast over there" so there is a down-side

  • I think it is weird is that flashlights do blind friendlies so i sometimes get blinded by team mates and die. I know that light would obviously blind everyone equally but it does not help the "gaming experience" and could easily lead to trolling. I do see a draw back to the tactical light as I am able to spot and kill enemies holding it much easier at a range though one possible fix for this could be giving the light a haloCE-esque recharge and or having the light fire a brief strobe burst.

  • @lectricanman I dont see how you can see the friendly blinding as weird. It can get annoying, but it definitely makes sense... It'd be weird if it didnt :P

  • I found that with the beta, the majority of people killing me were snipers. My biggest problem is actually not being able to tell who is talking on my team. I've had a couple of really annoying games where someone's TV was too loud and it was bleeding through the gamer's microphone. I couldn't tell who was making the noise. Even in circumstances when I tried to mute another player, it didn't work in the game. Normally trying to find Battlefield players who chat is difficult.

  • i think some of your rants are completely stupid in this video such as the flashlight yea i know it sucks but buy a surefire light and look into it, and for the laser its mounted on the gun also as for the scope glare its only when your facing the sun you get the glare so the game teaches you to play more realistic. you always fight with the sun to your rear

It doesn't matter if you are facing the sun or in a tunnel. Next time you call someone's opinions stupid, make sure you have the facts to back it up.

  • @FPSdaybreaK You state they only reflect when you are facing the sun. You are wrong. They reflect simply when the sniper is looking at you. this is designed to minimize campers abilities. The stronger the scope, the stronger the glint. Before you state that I am wrong about the glare being there because of them simply looking at you, not the sun, they have officially given reason why they added it, and also the snipers have the same glints indoors in dark hallways...

  • @FPSdaybreaK Actually dude I own a surefire....both the M951 and the 660L. In order to be blinded in clear daylight, you have to be about 6" from your face. And it certainly doesnt stand out that much. But at night, that thing is a spotlight. But I do like the scope glare.

  • @FPSdaybreaK Indeed it is....660L is pretty much the same. The heads/bulb are pretty much the same with the exception of the M951 being gray.

  • @Zebco96 let me tell you that light and a trijicon rx30 are pretty tuff i dropped my ar from around 20 feet onto some concrete and they both work fine

  • The counter for the flashlight is to give away your position thats why you turn it off when you dont need it. As far as that goes "Surefire" I bet thats what they had in mind when they put flashlights in the game. They are tactical flashlights used to blind the enemy no matter what your best counter is to either have a flashlight of your own and shoot. You have some good points about the Team management though I will agree on that :) Its always a pain trying to group with some friends.

  • They already fixed the problem with the squads in the real game but you pobably already know that. The flashlights are very annoying but I've found a lot of people hiding before cuz their light gave them away. The problem is you can turn the flashlight on and off so if your smart about it it has no downsides

  • I don't think that flashlights are supposed to have counters. Although they have a disadvantage at long distances, which is exposing your position.

    I don't see anyone complaining about flash grenades, and they are even more annoying.

  • I get the lasers and flashlights since they only give you an advantage in CQC once your far away they just give away your position so that's the counter you were talking about and you can see where a guy is looking just by watching the red dots, I am just glad they didn't make it possible to toggle the flashlights on and off since than it would wryly have no downsides, and the power is just fine just try lucking into a modern LED torch you will get disorientated

  • I've been ranking up with the recon class and I found that it's possible to quick scope with the M40A5 sniper. Give it a go but it might take a while to unlock!

  • I like the beta very much. But they should remove the flashlight blinding at outside because it makes no sense.

  • for larger maps and maps with various light levels you should be able to turn your flashlight off

    About laser sights, I don't use them because when you try to kill someone, it'll alert em your aiming at them

    what zoom multiplier will make a scope-glint show up?

  • I think the way to balance out flash light is the player with a flash light turned on will have difficulty in seeing things clear far away or out of the flash light affecting area. In this way, player with flash light will be harder to discover enemies and will give more time for the enemies to take down the player before he can turn the flash light towards them.

  • cool points ... i would add that i think there needs to be more destructible objects. The shrubs in the park, the lockers in the train station should all be destructible as this bring a new strategic dimension to the game. I dont want guy uses the same tricks over and over i want them to have to adjust as the field changes. And the RADIO beacon should be louder

  • I completely agree, man. This game is going to be great. They just need to fix the things you brought up, Like maybe making the flashlight light size a little smaller and less bright, you should be able to still see the person standing there. And when it comes to the "OMG the UMP" "Omg blahblahblah shot me from across the map" comments; . Your perception of "all the way across the map" is probably only about 100 yards, which is realistic.

  • i dont think flashlights are that overpowered, if they were nerfed a little bit it would be good but outside it makes you incredibly easy to see and inside if your not careful they can easily see you coming from the light, keep up the great vids

  • The scope glint is a blurred light way off in the distance. You can only see it when you're being aimed at. it's as constant as the sun shining. It's like a flashlight, if you can see it, it sees you. Not OP at all. Also, go have somebody shine a flashlight in your eye in real life. The game flashlights arent OP either. Shoot like crazy at the lights.

  • I agree with the flashlights and I find that ur teamm8s flashlight sometime or it seems 2 be even more blinding then the enemies, I dont know if this is intended or not, but its frustrating.

  • I think that they should fix the hit notification glitch and the things like overly bright light and scope glints. I also think that weapons like he PP2000 need to be nerfed.

  • @WastedBananas what bright light on scopes? I didn't notice anything, maybe you camp too much with sniper so you notice that. OH THANK YOU DICE FOR UNDERPOWERING SNIPERS, finally can have some fun in-game without you annoying tee camping drinkers.

  • The only real problem with me is that if enemy plants a bomb, it should show on the minimap, since I play a lot, and I do mean A LOT of strategy games, and I've gotten used to checking my minimap almost every second or so, and when I hear that a bomb has been armed I almost instantly check the minimap to see which one is planted and where the M-COM station is :D Just like in BC the m-coms should blink on the minimap once they are armed...

  • Scope glint is way to quick to happen i just drop to prone as soon as i see it and barely ever get killed by snipers, flashlights suck so much way to big of an area and brightness.

  • @Rastametalpunkman Its really weird cos basically all the US side have those kind of ski looking eyewear on well the engineer has it on backwards but still the damn flashlights are to big of an area to see past lol.

  • Better destruction and more accurate destruction as seen in campaign. no bc2 destruction that just look weird. Like on op metro shooting a rocket on the barricades it destroy a little part of it, I would think in real situation it will atleast have bigger radius. also at the wood in metro, the rocket is like a bullet and goes right through the wood, it doesnt have any big radius.

  • My major issue with the lights and laser you should spawn with the light off, becuase its annoying when you spawn in and forget that its on you give away your position, secondly, the point of the sniper with the high scope, I think should only work when you are outdoors and if you stay in the same spot for more than 10 seconds

  • About the scope glint: how do you think it will work when playing on huuuuuge maps like Caspian Border? I think that the system DICE and EA are using is better for big maps and your idea is better for smaller maps.

    The ideas of DICE are good but they need to lower the effects of the flash light and the sniper glint to be payable.

  • Flashlight did piss me off soooo much.. That when i turn a corner and i see a big flashlight i just Hip fire ;) and second thing... I though if You couldnt see anything cause of a flahslight.. If you have one.. The enemy wouldnt be able to see shit too .? .. That's how i counter flashlight

  • Totally agreed. Well put in words. I also think the 870 shotgun is a bit inconsistent, machine guns deal to much damage compared to rifles or shotguns and bullet penetration is low - can't really shoot through any kind of metal even if thin nor through objects like the ones inside A bob building last base and also hard to get 2 guys even with shotguns and rifles.

  • Hey everyone Anyone who hasn't been on the battlelog forums Please not that the beta is running from old code and that most of the bugs in the beta have already been fixed. Dice has stated that the beta was too test server stress. (by old code about 2 months actually)

    2 HIT HEADSHOT BUT 1 HIT AT RANGE

    And less damage for body hits

    Also flash lights in day should be nerfed

  • I think they should put in some badass raybans that makes the flashlight a basically useless. However they should reflect the sun like the scopes

  • hmm i see what you mean about the scopes but not all snipers camp for a long time i camp BUT only to spot the op teams tanks and helis to greatly help my team and i also take out the ops that are sneaking up to me team mates &i know what you mean about the flashlights they sould do like a bit of red or purple where the light is in the day you know like if you look at i high powerd tourch and you see a bit of a bur for a while and for the dark they sould make it the your not full blinded.

  • Squad management is a needed aspect... like you said i normally have friends already in game and its really annoying to have to try and fluke getting into the same squad.. i think there should maybe be an option to form a new squad when your friend joins you. I'm not a big fan of the semi automatic snipers for the starting weapons for recon, i think it makes it a little too good and i liked a bit of difficulty starting out. The flash light like you said is a real issue right now.

  • At least they should change the squando management, put it like the Bc2 were you can chose the squad you want to be apart of, the current one doesn't let us play with friends, at least on consoles.

  • I'm not sure that you're aware but there's no Join in progress option at the moment, something I really hope that they fix. Also the recoil on some of the Assault should really be toned down, in real life the M16 is almost recoil-less, and in real life LMG's are virtually recoil-less as well, but in-game they have insane amounts of recoil.

  • You have many good points but I think flashlights and lasers are not op inside. Outside flashlight should indeed have less brightness. Another thing that I would love to be fix is UPM. Its recoil is lower than any full automatic gun in BF3 and its damage is quite high. You can snipe dude equipt by assault rifle with SMG from a long distance? Either they should tweak UMP down, or all assault rifles up in my oppinion. Keep up the good work with the vids! loving them! :)

  • @rahmakapala i believe that the UMP has such low recoil is because it is not possible to put a foregrip on it.

    and i think that should be changed

    the ump should have more recoil but there should be a forgrip to then make it more accurate again

  • I haven't had much of a problem with the lasers, but yeah the flash lights should be toned down about 10-20% and about the same when you're outside. It's a torch, not a flash grenade xD

  • What i have notice and really seems to bother me with BF3 is the sniping aspect of the game. There is no reason at all to use a bolt action rifle in this game and for why they took the one shot kill out with these rifles makes no sense i can just as easily run around with a semi auto sniper rifle and use it like a shotgun. All i have to do is shoot twice instead of once.........what do you think about this?

  • @Saint43211 i agree and som time the SVD and the MK11 kill you 1 shot becuse thers a bug in the game where if you shot some one that is moving you will do more damage for some reason, that is on the battlelog if you want to read it

  • The flashlights are fine in my opinion. You also have to remember that this wont be the ONLY map so flashlight wont be much of a problem.
