@copsinmyhouse It actually is the original type box for the Ford factory 4x4s of I believe 1959-1965. They were commonly referred to as the "long-wrong" as the contour lines were meant for the previous cab style. The original bed on this truck was the same, yet so rotted, that only one side was salvaged for patch panels. The only parts not original is the current front bumper, not in video, from a 72 f100 and the wheels which were the style of 1966-early 1990's.
@jmcbrid0 oh gee really? thats interesting to know, I got my dads 64 Mercury M100 for my 16 th birthday, i figured mercury and ford are exactly the same, but mercury had a different box than yours. interesting! even for the 4x4 model haha.
@copsinmyhouse Its a hard call to make. From what Ive found they're nearly the same truck just a different badge. Basically the the more luxurious form of the truck. Im not sure how legit they are but I found a link to some resto photos and Ill send it to you. From what I know beginning in 66 Ford used the 2wd beds for the 4x4s with the sweep back behind the rear tires. This required a 1-2ft shorting of the frame.
@copsinmyhouse Also I put a link up in the description to my dad's blog with photos. He updates it here and there but Winter pu him in the garage starting on the 63's resto which will be a complete frame-off. I went away to college so whenever I get back Ill have to shoot some more video of it driving once its licensed and mufflered.
@copsinmyhouse Thank you! And the frame in the background beside the 98 F150 is a 1963 F250 4x4 which will be next in line to be rebuilt. Finally months of searching Craigslist paid off and we have a bed for it it good condition. The 63's original bed is residing on the 65

very nice! but I woulda looked for an original box/bed. just doesnt look the same. but sweet truck goodluck on restoring :)
