well it didn't really matter since this was the first 3D Final Fantasy game to come out so you have to really think about advertising final fantasy in THEIR time. Fancy Pancy FMV sequences would impress every one back then.
depending on HOW they remake it.. personally I don't really think they should. I don't think they retained the spirit of the game in Advent Children (I was disapointed) so if they continue like that the remake probably won't be to my taste.
I love FF7 but I think people who dont like it dont understand video game history. If not for FF7 multi million dollar game productions would still be a fantasy. People should be bowing to square for makeing multi million dollar games a reality.
Either bowing or destroying. Think about it: ever since Square hit big with FF7, all subsequent RPGs are somewhat sub par, because they are made to make money, and not to be thought provoking, deep, or just plain interesting. Case in point: FF12.
i agree with MMOJon FF X-2 was by far the worst if you want to call it that out of the FF games that cam out... i myslef am not a fan of FF X-2 but there is enough people who would agree with me.. x-2 is not bad per say it is just not on the level of maybe some of the other FFs. if you look at when FFXII cam out it got alot of praise as well as from several popular game site is as as GI for being the best RPG for that year. IT only place second behind Zelda TP for game of the year... TBC

Zryuken, I could not agree with you more. I think Final Fantasy VII is up there with the great games of all time. Its just as revolutionary, as Mario Bros, Metal Gear Solid, Halo, and many many others. If you donot like this game you do have poor taste. I think Ironwolf has poor taste as it is....sorry but like you said, I had to be harsh about it.
I didn't mean to sound THAT harsh, but I just felt the game play was a huge rehash aside from Materia (which I felt made the game way too easy). The story, the setting, everything else was cool. I thought Sephiroth sucked however.

Lol, what I didn't like about the game was the ending because I was like "Wheres Cloud and them!?" and then that screen of all the stars coming after you and I waited for 2 hours for something to happen, turns out that it was the ending.
*sigh* Nothing can touch this game. I've played a lot of kickass games throughout the years, but none generates the same experiance I had playing FFVII.
That was a really funny commercial. I never actually got through the game. I've tried time and time again but just couldn't force myself to finish it. Perhaps one day I will. Maybe after I finally watch Advent Children. FF8 is still my fave.
Ashamed of myself? The game is very much so unbearable that whenever I pick it up I find myself bored and taking month/year breaks from it. I'd probably play the original Final Fantasy on NES before attempting FF7 again.
I wouldnt be surprised if you didnt finish 6, 8, 9, or 10 either. They all have a more story focused system. The first 5 are more based on your characters and the fights. Not they do a much better job with it than 6-10. I guess it takes a certain amount of focus.

I played and finished 8 9 and 10. I didn't have anything prior to 7 considering I was pretty young at the time. I just found 7 very hard to enjoy.
