this is irrelevant they laptops are different models and made in different years. the best way to comapre would be to get the same size laptop, (15" for example). then you would need to have the same baseline apps and data on each computer. the only difference should be the processor

@badboyx2013 This wasn't some official review. I just got a new laptop and made a video comparing the speed to my old one. Yes they're different computers, but there are thousands of people out there looking to upgrade their 2008 MacBook Pros to 2011 models, and are wondering what the speed difference would be. I'd hardly call it irrelevant.

@Henrylo2 The SSD drive would make the computer boot like twice as fast, but here it booted almost 5x as fast. And actually... if the hard drives were swapped, there's a real good chance that the i7 would beat the SSD.
