This show may have many inaccuracies to the games, but at least back then they cared about making kids TV shows after video games.

All we have right now is Pokemon, and with modern games you have more complex storylines to tell...it's pretty bad we don't have a Sly Cooper cartoon or something like it.

I didn't have a Nintendo so I also had no idea with some of the characters and wondering "Where's Pacman and Alex Kidd?" I knew they must have been real games as I recognised Castlevania, Tetris, PaperBoy and the Gameboy. Now having all the games on emulators this series just multiplied in coolness. Especially with the use of licensed songs in an 80s cartoon - forward thinking.
