But the fact that you think that music should have certain qualities to make it good for "higher tastes" really is very arrogant. Just because you study music at a higher level doesn't mean you like these "higher tastes" now. You've seen qualities that you've studied which you now appreciate. you don't actually like them any better. A taste is per individual and I personally think it's arrogant to think there are levels...

I understand completely that you aren't telling me not to like it. But what bothers me is that you seem to think that there are levels of taste. There aren't. Music and how it works on a human level is just an illusion. It doesn't exist. I have done research about the study of music before and I compose a lot myself. Dominant works so good because it registers on a human level as cleaner than other intervals because it has a smaller ratio between the frequency. This is only an illusion however.

@NevinJarek We freakin humans for gods sake, we can listen to whatever the hell we like and as long as we like it it's fine. I love this band and no-one really should care what kind of taste the music is and how much talent it took to create it.
If you like it you like it and if you don't you don't. There shouldn't be any in-depth thought as long as the creators made it because they liked it and not to make money.

And yes, there should be a lot of in-depth thoughts of why do you like something or why dont you like it.

@SeknaTS (continued) Understanding music and our syntonization with it has been with musicians since we took it seriously, as our lives. Do you think composers randomized some notes because it was just a fun hobby? They have poured their souls into it, even when they suck at it, they still love their music and will do everything that they can to make it more like they wanted it to be, even if its simple, they want it to be an appropriate representation.

@SeknaTS How do you think that we build our music? From inspirations. Do you think that GIAA never studied or analyzed their inspirations or idols? Beethoven analyzed in-depth, studied, and understood Mozart before acquiring a piece of his qualities and mixing it with his own, and GIAA did too, as well as Britney Spears and Metallica. Otherwise everybody would have their own regulative system, tuning, scales and rhythms. We dont, we learn from others, music is both holistic and individualistic.
