no it is mechanical look at my video of us detasseling. this is very economical. We can do 2 rows and once and run 14mph. we can easily 400 acres on a tank of fuel
So, you detassel the female rows so they won't pollinate, then after pollination, you destroy the male row in order at harvest you are only picking one variety? What I am seeing here is not a detasseling machine? Correct?
how good does it cut the male rows out with the blades or do you get a lot of vol.corn latter on . I used the wheels that runs over the corn and chops it up , and that works pretty good.
in most cases the corn hasnt matured enough to make seen yet. In some cases you do see a little bit of volunteer but nothing much. This just chops it at the stalk and pushes it over.
it has gps however because the planter we use drifted we were unable to use it. We use it on beans and for corn pre-emergent. As for the sprayer, this is the nicest one ive ever driven. Havent tried the new hagies but the Nitro sure rides nice
This is seed corn. In seed corn you pull the tassels from the female corn (one hybrid) and use the male corn (A different hybrid) to pollinate it. Once the male rows have pollinated the female rows, they are destroyed so that when you harvest you are only picking one variety of corn.
you cant really tell in this video but the male rows are the ones that still have a tassel on them. The females have been removed so the males will pollinate them, thus creating a hybrid.
why do you destroy the male rows????

my god and you detasseled it by hand ?
i noticed the females have pointed tips.
When w have to take the males down we use a small tractor plus a chopper, it works pretty good and we save a lot of fuel money.

How you like the sprayer? I am seriously looking into one and would like some user feedback.
In this video are you steering or is the GPS?
