Classroom of the future

I had been stuck in front of a classroom where there was virtually no open space and the only viable workspace layout was neat rows facing forward. There was a VCR/TV but almost no tapes (old tech in light of DVD/Blueray). No projection system for computer display (forget smart-board), only whiteboards. Too few computers. and in an affluent town!

I couldn't stand it!

I am a little skeptical of one of the new and improved ways of classroom structure. I think students using laptops in class is a great idea. In this modern day, young children are forced to utilize computer technology in their every day years. But having no chairs is something that may cause fatigue in students.

I thought this was a great way to inform us on how important little things are. When people are asked "what are the things that contribute to great student performance?" increasing cubby spaces to enhance sound is a rare response. Also, I was told that bright colors contribute to student performance.  Though this video makes color arrangement seem unimportant, I feel that it is.
