I imagine in the days with just the three Beatles, Paul felt a little left out of the friendship between George and Ringo. Paul didn't have his best mate John around like in the Beatle days and when it was the three of them, Paul seems to be like the third wheel.
wow George sued Ringo for a mixed tape... well Paul made a couple if thousands if dollars from sueing the rest of the Beatles. it makes me sad because Paul and George didn't talk for a while...
@Binca954 I agree because paul kinda got george in the band and all the beatles seemed like best friends and it IS sad to here that they didnt talk for a long time.
this might be the only video i've ever seen where one of them is smoking and george isn't ... did he quit in the '80s? he was such a chain smoker during the '60s.
@migi367 You can rest assured knowing that the only reason someone would've disliked this is because of the lag between the audio and video. And know, I did not dislike this.
@madintodogs and always veiwing George as a kid, also George was pissed with Yoko's presence, Ringo was pissed at Paul's controlling nature and just viewing him as "Ringo our funny Drummer" and he was pissed at John for Yoko's presence and John only viewing him as (like Paul) "Ringo our funny Drummer"
@madintodogs yeah that was the only real falling out the two of them had...basiclly It was John and Paul who everybody had a problem with.....John was pissed at Paul because of his controlling nature and his constant jabs at Yoko, Paul was pissed at John because of business differnces and his association with Yoko, George was pissed at Paul because of business differences and Paul's controlling nature, George was pissed at John because of years of John looking down on him and holding him back
@itkapatanka i made that comment a while ago and don't even know what i meant now haha.. perhaps i meant that he actually hasnt known paul for 18 years, but i couldnt possibly know that haha.. oh well.
@DerekKnox1 Paul never had much to do with George- he's implying he didnt really' know' him because they rarely had a conversation and Paul usually ignored everyone but John
@DerekKnox1 they worked separately, even in studio they would record their parts to songs separately and have 1 Beatle or George Martin put all the tapes together into one song.
"He was tired of beans!" god, George, why don't you just call him out...that's hilarious
When he was asking how they and Paul get on, when it cut to George, he was looking away like he didn't have anything to do with it, i half expected him to start whistling
they did mend the rift lennons last phone call was funny and nice to paul. paul loved george as they were friends before beatles and ringo is just ringo its a love hate thing. oh and johns killer should get the chair he cant win either way life in prison or if he released he be killed by fans
Why did the beatles fight pauyak? Simple answer: you get that many creative and opinionated geniuses together, they're going to fight. You can have fights with your friends, and no one cares, its just they were the beatles and their disagreements were broadcast to the world.
It is sad that the beatles broke up, but it lead the way to even more amazing music.
He certainly was for a few months after killing John. He was all over the press for a while. Then he spent his years in prison and everybody forgot about him. He reappeared for a while when he finished his sentence, and now Who knows where he is ? Is he dead ? I0'm not sure really...
Actually you're right. He was given a 20 yr sentence in 1980 and has been denied parole 5 times since 2000 also because of opposition from Yoko Ono. He will probably spend the rest of his life in prison. Next time he can claim aprole will be mid-2010.
the beatles were great... but why all the fighting and quarelling between each other when the group stopped? they should have remained closest buddies till the end
@pauyak Paul picked one of Linda's relatives to manage Beatles money Without asking the other 3 who wanted someone not biased.. also a bit earlier George and Ringo left for a few days during different time periods cuz of how Paul treated them & Yoko being allowed wasn't fair. Paul sued the other 3 to leave the Beatles, John got mad about that, George sued for money. John&George stayed friends, Ringo was everyone's friend. Paul only remained friends with Ringo, but only years later and now
"Well you've certainly brought the party down, Michael" haa! Ringo is hilarious and confident, this is why the Beatles worked, George has this hugely funny and warm side and Ringo just bounces and plays off him so well, like Albert and Costello, great.
i love the way they can always be light hearted.I am STILL sad about john though.oh, and to the 'annoyingly old' person, whats your problem with ringo?i doubt you'd be as cool as he is EVER
When George said he'd had a great time with Yoko in New York, what did Ringo say? It sounded like, 'You wouldn't be the first one....'. That's one hell of a sense of humour from Ringo if he did!!
i remember when i think it was george had an interview once on this show and when george sat in his chair the interviewer said "Yoko sat that once" and george just jumped out of the seat lol
it didn't seem like Yoko and George hated each other so much after the break-up.. I mean, right after that, they were all recoprding "Oh My LOve" tgether
Great video. Ringo is still very funny as he was in NY this last weekend, everyone was laughing at his humor. Ringos all star band is the best show out there.
George always comes off as soo down to earth in his own interviews - it's nice to see Ringo exposing him some. Apparently, he could be just as ridiculous as the rest of them. :D
George says "I had a great time with Yoko in New York" and I think Ringo retorts under his breath with "You know you're not the first one, don't you?". A few seconds later when George says "It was nice to meet her" I think ringo says "Just couldn't get off you know!".
Ringo was a drinking mate of Keith Moon, until his death in 1978. His friendship with Harrison seemed his most important, during the Beatles, After he had mostly the support of his collegues, like Moon, so cut Ringo some slack.
Oh, we all are fond of both Beatles. We're just so fond we like talking about them too. (Sigh) Us Beatle fans belong in the days of black photography. I would call myself as an investigator and it would be easier to investigate the Beatles from there.
George is a little uncomfortable, but that's because he knows Ringo well, and he knows when he's drunk. This isn't the same sweet Ringo from the early days, and it's not the Ringo we see today.
Both are great. George wasn't uncomfortable around Ringo, and Ringo wasn't being rude to George. This is how they were with each other. George was the quiet one. Ringo was the funny one. I mean, if you had the other 2 Beatles there, it would have been a ruckus.
Ringo really *was* a drunk at this time. He went into rehab not long after this. By the end of the next year in 1989, he announced being clean and sober which he has been ever since. Of course George loved Ringo, but I see him blushing and looking at the camera shaking his head as if to say "What's this crazy man talking about?"
My thanks for posting this interview series. I have not seen these before and they are just wonderful. George is dour and understated; Ringo is ebullient and funny. Just amazing to watch!
Anyone else notice (and think it's really kinda cute) that George looks right into the camera when he wants to defend himself or seems a tad embarrased? :)
Ringo was drunk and shooting off his mouth. George was not pleased. There were some moments in that interview where George looked uncomfortable while Ringo was speaking.
"Shocked and stunned" was a line from comedy "The Rutles" which George had a small part in. -It was where they spoofed the death of Brian Epstein/ in The Rutles...their manager "Stiggy"
died. The groups reaction was "shocked and stunned".
George says "I had a great time with Yoko in New York" and I think Ringo retorts under his breath with "You know you're not the first one, don't you?". A few seconds later when George says "It was nice to meet her" I think ringo says "Just couldn't get off you know!".
