  • I need one of these.

  • wow ill have to remember this for my kit :)

  • цепная пила советского образца 60х годов. ничего нового

  • A knife sheath (HomeDepot has vinyl cutter with sheath) could be used to house that bad boy, this way you have easy access to it if your going for wood, also... TheDubDoubt is now working hard in his mom's basement trying to figure out how to get more than 6 inches of saw. LOL

  • Doesn't a chainsaw chain cut in only one direction!!???

  • @steinderbush

    yes

  • @steinderbush The sharp ends on the chainlinks go in both directions, I'm assuming it cuts in both directions.

  • @steinderbush You can use a chainsaw chain to make these, BUT you have to break it down and reverse the direction of every other cutter

  • nice little saw

  • I like to take my time and get good "strokes" too...

  • pls test on dead woods

  • On a serious note. If you prop a log on another. Pulling away from gravity this does an ok job. I normally just pick up deadfall or break up what I can find around my site for firewood.

You could probably make one out of strap and a old chainsaw blade if this really gets your wheels turning.

Note: why does Nutnfancy pop up on the side bar everytime I want to watch real videos. As much lisping as he does the blind fags love him...

  • looks like a really good way to get fell upon by a tree

  • @killerbydayornight i actually thought the same exact thing, cool concept though

  • you need a saw to cut that but chuck norris only needs his fists

  • You strapped yourself to a tree. If anything goes wrong you don't have a quick escape.

  • Whats it like for cutting up human bodies ? I've got this...never mind.

  • @trulynot Yah! it works great i use it for that all the time. i work in a crematorium and some times i need to cut down the feet to finish the job.

  • @wardog911 I was thinking freshly dead and uncooked. Its ok, I sorted out my little problem...:o)

BTW, at the crematorium, I thought the grieving family smashed up the remains with a hammers ? They all stand around the charcoaled form on the slab and between sobs, they BANG BANG sob BANG !

  • Awesome saw.. I cut a 5 inch thick branch off a ficus tree in no time.

  • bike chain??

  • Where u buy it

  • Looks very inefficient, a laplander is much faster and probably lighter as well.

  • no you can not use a normal chainsaw chain, primarily because the mono-directional cut configuration. Second, because when you "bend" the chain blade side with a chainsaw blade, it will bind up on itself. Especially with smaller diameter woods.

When it comes to energy efficient wood cutting in a survival situation... nothing beats a razor sharp axe.

  • i prefer the karate chop lol :)

  • that thing is really handy!

  • How about using a file to sharpen the backside of the chainsaw blade. Not so difficult task.

  • @ HomoGnosticus

OH.. so you are going to take something that exisits and then modify it for a new task.. Sort of like what they did

Only you want to 'do-it-yourself' while other people would rather have someone else do the modification and just sell the finished item..

Sort of like what they did

  • Yes exactly, if I can do something, at least partially, with my own hands, I don´t like purchasing it. But as you said that´s just my preference.

  • yeah..if it's going in one directions....but when you hand cutting it's going alternatively...

  • You can use a standard chainsaw chain, add some handles with the same result. No need to buy this "survival" branded stuff,

  • @ HomoGnosticus

    Wrong..

You put a lot of thought into your reply eh??

Chainsaw blades cut ONE WAY.. these cut both ways, so its a usefull hand tool

  • @GearBuyersGuide ohhhhhh snapppppp sonnnn you just got told!!!!!!

  • @braaaaaap2234

What just happened three months ago?

  • @GearBuyersGuide you're not even using it right lol you should be using the whole chain and not just 6in of it

  • @TheDubDoubt

Really? this 1 minute 23 seconds of video was not the difinative how to manual for this product??

Good thing we were just introducing it then..

  • @GearBuyersGuide well if you're going to show off a product and how it works it should be done correctly or people will probably assume the product sucks

  • @TheDubDoubt

You are the Gear Review police ??

Goi make your own videos how ever you would like

You don't see us commenting on how we would do your 'music videos' differently

  • @TheDubDoubt FFS man, give it a rest. I hate to chime in buts thats ridiculous.

Honestly, what credit do you have to be telling people (experts or not) how to use a survival saw correctly. Life must really suck for someone to make all these "Your doing it wrong" comments.

  • @Blitzkrieg4590

thanks for the refreshing perspective & support !!

  • @TheDubDoubt djeez dude relax , he just showing how it works ... dang ... wow if u might ever do a review on a cellphone or similar , prepare a long week of filming to show all specs on the phone and make sure part 1 to part 30 is fully correct , or i'll be the one wining and complaning !!

  • how long will the teeth last?

  • we haven't abused it, but so far we haven't made a dent in them, so I'll assume a LONG time

  • where can I find that saw ?

  • You can find them at the Ultimate Survival Technologies website

  • Thanks !

  • the one les stroud used was a cable saw, not chain

  • I just got that kit, and man that saw can get to work if used right.

  • It's Les Stroud not trout.

  • very nice tool!

les trout from survivorman had that too but than smaller : 1 mm thin saw.

it broke when he saw a little tree

  • really? dang,, this one is just like a chain saw, I think it would be pretty hard to break this one

  • that's why it is an good survival tool!

  • Yeah I saw that, but that was a wire saw...not exactly the same thing.... Those are notorious pieces of garbage, not even worth their weight (and they weigh very little)..

Actually correction, they might make a good snare wire...but thats about it.

  • wat episode?
