Finding jay electronica litterally has made me happier on a day to day basis. His music is so well put together, his lyrics are deep, his beats are sick, his base and instrumentation is always SO classy and spot on. Love it. Who agrees?

Talib Kweli used the phrase in 'Thieves In The Night' and he quoted his whole verse from something else (can't remember specifically). Nas quotes Rakim to the extent were he seems almost infatuated with the man don't see Rakim fans complaining though. Jay is a better rapper than Nas is as of now - just face it. He's past his prime.

I can agree with you on the tributes thing, it is getting becoming played out and just a way for some rappers to gain exposure (although Elzhi's was dope). I feel like they should of waited until the twentieth anniversary of Illmatic or something.

Jay has shown no signs of slowing down so he's not peaked, but prime Nas is better than current Jay undoubtedly.
