  • Germany is the way to go. Prof. Dr. Bertagnoli did my surgery and I would recommend him.

  • Hello Gary I my self was researching disc replacement I really liked the feel I got from Germany through Google research. Gary could you reply back the doctors name phone# and email. Also your back disc replacement is almost 4 years old have you had any problems at all? I feel hopeful after watching your video. Please Help thank you Gary.

  • Glad you're improved. My Aunt had fusion at two lower lumbar levels in august of 2007 and it's been one problem after another. Her fusion has now caused complications in her upper lumbar requiring more surgery this summer. It's been difficult. Be thankful for your good fortune!

  • No, I did not go to Stenum, but the big advantage of Germany is that the doctors are so experienced with ADR surgery.

  • I never thought of going out of the country for surgery! I've been putting it off because I'm terrifies of fusion. Why Germany? What is the cost? i need my L4 replaced. I can't wait any longer. How long was your total stay needed in Germany?

  • 1. Stenum has far too many revisions (reoperations).

    2. Many patients complain that Stenum doctors do not remove osteophytes during surgery, which causes problems later and is part of the standard procedure.

    3. Many previous patients report surgery is like a factory line.

There are more reasons, but I do not want to post them.

  • Kamikazze24, the entry wound through the abdomen takes about 3 weeks for the majority of healing, depending on the skill of the surgeon, your physical condition and age. It is uncomfortable, but if the surgery is properly done it is not a big deal.

  • this is great news. I have to have this surgery I hope it's as successful as yours.

  • for some reason i cannot see the messege.can you please leave me a private message?

  • It is possible to repair them. Herniations are usually taken care of from the posterior approach, so I do not understand the concern over the lungs and heart. ADR is not done in the thoracic region for several reasons. So operations like an nucleoplasty or partial discectomy is the norm. If the disc is complete gone, may be something like a IPD can be used. I used European Medical Tourist to find the right doctor and hospital for me. They know the right people.

  • i have to herniated discs in my middle back.

T9 and T7. is it posssible to repair those two

discs? i have heard that since they are so

close to the heart and lungs that the replacement is not possible at this time.

and also would you be kind to share with me the hospital you went to in germany and possibly the doctor and his staff.I would greatly appriciate that.

    thank you
