  • Sweet! I love trying to follow your fingers on this., Great job!

  • Holy smoke! The best playing I've seen in a long time! Thanks for the lesson (but after seeing this I think I'll sell my instruments and go back to my daytime job...).

  • wow.

  • This is totally frustrating for a relative beginner- after a LONG intro it all moves so fast with no proper explanation of the fingers or order of them used in plucking

  • Thank you for making this video , excellent song and you are very helpful in your teaching style . Im going to check out all of your vids. I am just crazy about doc watson [ I know hes only one of many greats to do this song]Please carry on

  • this is the best lesson ive ever seen, not to hard and not too easy, just perfect! thanks very much

  • Thank you so much!

  • this arrangement is the best out there I think...quite tricky though

  • Wow! Great Job! Sounds like Chet Adkins

  • *raises glass* cheers!

  • Yeah, go for it! I have always dreamed of owing one too. They start from 12 k at the moment (I'd bet this is a Brazilian rosewood Franklin, and I think it is/was owned by Stefan Grossman). Anyway, Duck is truly great, it is a pity he plays mostly nylon string guitar nowadays.

  • Duck gets a good head of steam up.

  • this guy is a beast. i got one of his instructional vids from the library. it's hard to follow if you don't have a solid grasp of the right hand technique(he doesn't explain it), which i didn't have at the time and at times it is sstill very challenging especially the improv. Practice Practice Practice.

  • this is fast. I think singing along helps regulate that.

  • Aww man I thought this was Donald 'Duck' Dunn..

YOU LIAR !! Just kidding. NIce job.

  • man thats way cool, bro

  • amazing

  • Dear Duck. I´ve been listening to your musical interpretations as well as creative stuff since the late 70´ies. Carry on soldier. Thats "swing" all over the line. Catching, no matter whatever style you choise to perform. Unique tecnique. Unique creative addition of your own. Unique approach an´ personal sound. Always loved your sharpness an´ musical perception. Apparently you seem to be a fine teacher too. Would like to purchase your stuf just to maintain a dream.....The guitar lives

  • Muito bom!Parabéns e obrigado David, aprendi bastante !!

  • you dont talk about how to apply the right hand technique at all. its frustrating.

  • Ah. Very cool, but 5 not 4 chords. The D7 just passing through.

  • great playing

  • can anyone tell if he's playing an F# in the bass with his thumb at times with his F phrasing?

  • I think he is playing D7/F# there.

  • Really good. The improvisation was nice and it didn't interfere with the momentum of the song.

  • The funk makes it interesting.

  • he does funk it up a bit much....but if you were sitting around with the fellas and you wanted to tweak them a bit it would be nice to have a few of those to put them in thier place.

  • Brilliant video lesson .Thank you David

  • I can only say Brilliant thank you so much I just hope I manage to play it half as good. Well done David.

  • hahaa förjävlig version :D

  • Awesome video! Discouraging to realize how far away i am but great to watch. Thanks.

  • He tinkered with the original song a little too much in my opinion, but did some really nice additions as well. All in all great video.

  • Any chance of a tab? I love fingerpicking and this tune is the best

  • great tune.

  • Excellent - I intend to check this video out.

  • Yes, Stefan Grossman, thank you so much. Would love to see you playing your new signature edition Martin. I love my Madagascar Martin and look forward to playing your model.

  • Thanks Mr Grossman for this great MJH song, Duck Baker Does it more in a Ragtime Fashion fantastic :D.

  • sounds a bit like "When I'm 64" This is really cool

  • big thanx

  • good video

however could you please post some flat picking style videos for us less talented people who can't finger pick

    thanks

  • There are some already posted. Search for Eric Thompson or Scott Nygaard, for example.

  • john hurt's style doesn't really lend itself to flatpicking too well

  • Since when is flatpicking easier than fingerstyle?

  • Great video.

    I`m going to learn it.

    Thanks.
