This may sound stupid but I always saw shirts, posters and other stuff with this guys face on them, so I was wonder who was he? Was he considered a "good guy" or a "bad guy"? and whats with the revolution thing?

Ironic how Americans as a whole have demonised a man who fought for equality in education etc because he aligned with socialism/communism. While he was most active and America was waving the flag for democracy, could African Americans vote or even go to the same restaurants and schools etc in the so called Land of the Free?. Sure he could be brutal by peacetime standards but most in countries, including those with no capital punishment, treason is the one crime still punishble by death.

under his rule the people of cuba live on 12 dollars a week and the only rich people in cuba were the ones that worked for casto personaly. the reason that socalism doesn't work is that once everyone realises that they are going to get the same amount of money no mater if they work or not, they stop working as hard. socalism does make every one the same but it makes everyone poor. Not all rich people worked very hard for their money, but even the ones who did had the chance to do so. The problem is in the oppurtunity to amass that wealth. If you are born into certain situations you wont have the education, connections, etc. that someone who is born into wealth would have and henceforth would most likely be cast into the same social level that your parents are. And the cycle continues.
There is something that people need to realize. There is NOTHING wrong with socialism. It simply does not work in the world we live in. Most socialist leaders like Fidel Castro abuse the system by following their self-interests instead of meeting the needs of their people. I'm sure you would follow him too if he threatened you with imprisonment and death. Che Guevara was not like Castro, because he actually wanted to make the world a better place for EVERYONE.

He also let's not forget condemmed to death rapists, torturers and murderers.
