That alone doesn't ruin it, it's a combination of aspects that makes it bad for me.

Nothing technical, nothing heavy, nothing progressive, nothing chilled out. They've added nothing new to music, nor have they improved on anything done before. I think the new album sucks.

@isair81 Most of what I'm saying isn't a personal opinion. They are literally not very technical at all, they are pretty soft metal, and they don't progress the metal genre at all. They add nothing new.

Not to say you can't like them, but you're thoughts on them as a band doesn't change the facts.

How in any way am I wrong? What did the reviews say? (also, most reviewers are rubbish. Metalarchives is possibly the best place on the net for metal reviews...)

You and i might think Backstreet Boy's is complete rubbish, but millions of adoring fans would gladly crucify anyone who says otherwise. Most Swedish reviews I've read think that the new album is a continuation of "The Dead Eye", and generally has been well received.

@isair81 You can like them aesthetically as much as you want, but that doesn't change what sounds the band produces. Subjectivity doesn't affect whether or not someone plays a G minor chord, but it can affect how much you like said chord.

I'm not saying you shouldn't like them. I'm saying they aren't very technical, heavy or progressive. Those are the main things I look for in a metal band, so The Haunted aren't to my taste. I think they are a bad band also, but that's a separate thing...

Plus singers can keep it up for a long time - cannibal corpse as one example. There is technique in all that chaos some people use it others don't - the ones that don't blow their voice out
