  • Interesting banjo effect. I tried the thumbtacks-on-the-piano hammers technique, as a child--to make that metallic harpsichord sound--but it made my piano teacher very cross. Pop musicians in the 60s used to do it for special effects. They didn't have all the electronic sound effects wizardry of today. They used to sing over toilet bowls for echo effects and things, way back then.

  • @zuditaka

Yes the "effect" was simply speeding up the video by about 200% :o)

I wish I could actually play that fast!

I have heard of the drawing pin technique too (voicing), not that I have tried that yet, I have put toilet tissue hanging down on the strings for a softer tone, but that does not last very long. I also stick pins into the felt so that the felt is made softer, again that does not last too long before they get hardened again and will sound much brighter after a while.

  • Yep great as usual - you are technically a much better player than me

  • Great as usual!

  • There you are! Playing beautifully as usual! Nice
