  • Muslims countries face the brick monolith with a black burqa and pray I don't remember how many times everyday, yet they live in the shittiest regime on earth. YEAH, prayer works...

  • Joy Behar IS a bigot. I'm glad Elizabeth called her on it. Also, I think this the first time Sherry actually said something intelligent.

  • praying doesn't work

if there is a God he does things his own way and isn't going to listen to a bunch of rednecks

  • i am SO DAMN sick of people hating on those who believe and pray. What is wrong with that!? If we want to believe LET us. and u can go on and do whatever it is yu want. i wont judge u just stop hating!

  • @littlelulu3456 do you live under a rock? the world is full of cooperation between church and state. The president HAS to be christian. I am also christian, but I'm not stupid enough to think that we are the opressed or hated on. Everywhere, religion dominates popular sentiment. A religious person would NEVER think twice about stating their beliefs, yet we constantly (as hipocrites) supress atheists from stating theirs, or questioning religion. Religious ppl have begun to turn me from religion.

  • @laziosniper no i dont live under a rock. but i understand what u said and thts why if yu READ my last 2 sentences i said ppl are entitled to believe whatevr they like and I WONT judge them. i just think sometimes religious ppl are the ones these days tht ppl think as crazies. some sure have been kinda wack but so have been nonbelievers. sterotypes are the worst! i honestly want world peace. *sigh* i wish it cld happen. (continued)

  • @laziosniper and yu shldnt be religious just to be it. yu have to BE it and believe it yurslef. if religious ppl r making yu want to quit religion then yu never were really believeing it to begin with. :) good luck and thnx for replying to my comment nicely. some ppl are so hurtful haha

  • Why are Sherri and Elizabeth so easy to find disgusting? God must have planed that so we have a perfect example of biggot ignorant thiests. I actually enjoy hateing both of them puke puke puke!

  • Does anyone else realize that this show is just a charade (facade). C'mon, sheeple. Keep the masses fighting over petty politics. WAKE UP. RON PAUL 2012

  • More Blather about God. Can it people.

  • Two hands working does more than 1000 clasped in prayer.

  • I LOVE JOY SHE KEEPS IT REAL!!!!!

  • go dl!

  • Comedy is not subjective peoples view of it is subjective. Everyone in a group of people is close minded and arrogant and i have the power to CLOSE all subject with my period. Some might even call the belief you can close a subject all on your own arrogant. It would be like me saying I hate all White people because they all hate people.

  • If prayer works just ask your god to help everyone in need at all times & to make sure everything always works for the best.

That's it. If you say that prayer, you'll never have to pray again.

    Prayer is fucking stupid, period...

Stop fucking praying and do something.

  • If you don't see the absolute comedy in the post right below this you don't get great comedy. Lol hahahah

  • @Ethandials3 It's true though. I don't see the comedy in it. BTW, comedy is subjective.

    Herp-da-derple-DOOOO!

  • Christians are very arrogant and close minded ... period. Cant stand Elizabeth

  • Kool-Aid tastes great. But it doesn't cure cancer. :/

  • Great point Joy...

  • yes prayer might help people have hope and ease peoples mind and remove responsibility from the people but it's not going to do shit to change anything for the better, in the real world!

  • god is a myth the buybull is a fairytale.

  • god why does joy even sink to their level its embarassing

  • at 4.04, Elizabeth's sarcastic 'let's pray for pure communism' remark really sums up that typical American extremism that if you put any environmental safeguards up that automatically makes you a communist. what. the fuck.

  • 100% agree with elizabeth

  • I love that Elisabeth seems to jump straight from "let's have regulation of dangerous organisations" to "COMMUNISM OMG!"

  • EH can't put together a logical thought

  • Praying to a tree will give the same results as praying to a god.

If u wanna know what it means copy and paste in google trans

from Arabic to whatever lang u want

  • Sheree.... The only reason blacks are Christian in the first place is because of the white man. So Sheree has established that her God is a man... is he also white? Why cant God be a black female? Or nongendered? To Sheree, God is absolutely male... Well following that logic he must be white too then! Way to think outside the box Sheree.

  • @parkguy505 so true , its hard to get them to see the obvious facts , its like maybe they know it and believe what they want and not what they see. Its so annoying but true

  • Joy Behar makes these other ladies look like bafoons. Prayer and faith is just that-- a leap of FAITH. Religion is not scientific, mathematical, or tangible, thus it is NOT inherently intellectual. At the same time though I wouldnt classify it as UNintellectual, or stupid, but religion does not deal with higher levels of thinking or intellect. Period. If you do not understand this, you are an idiot like Elizabeth Hasslebeck.

  • I can't stand Hasselbeck she set's woman back everytime she opens her trap.

  • its been proven if you pray youre stupid. period.

  • @MegaPeacelovelife GOD CANT POSSIBLY BE A WOMAN,she too busy in the kitchen!!!:P

  • DEATH TO RELIGION ! ! !

  • He's called the heavenly father.... father

  • If I ever heard the black chick generate one genuine critical thought or intelligent, cogent syllogism I would die of a flippin heat attack! Clearly she is so deluded that she couldn't even see the logical inconsistency and flat out absurdity in her statement. Oh and then there's Hasselbeck.....pfft nuff said there LOL

  • @sammy2trees Yes. Both ladies are lacking in the IQ department.

  • "for a lot of people faith and prayer work" if the goal is only to make yourself feel better and not actually do anything to change the situation for the better prayer works great. If you actually want something to happen you have to go out and fight for it. It makes me ill when some people pray and others go out and work hard and actually do something to make things better and the people that prayed try to take the credit for actually helping.

  • Prayer - for when you want to feel like you're helping, but are too lazy to actually help.

  • @wjhopper

    depends who you call God.

plenty of people have (a) God/Gods that has/have nothing to do with the Bible.

  • Prayer yeah that Ill work .Yes lets kill a chicken and study its entrails that may help too .

  • elizabeth is my faverot person on the view

  • @NeoConNation for me to poop on

  • I bet Sherri has prayed to be pretty and skinny

  • God isn't male or female... but he is provider and protector so he's fatherly.

  • I want my 6:27 back!

  • God says in His word to pray , it is a good thing

  • elisabeth= oh dear

  • i love you joy behar fuckin smart lady

  • GOD Elizabeth is stupid! She thinks she is making a good point, which she's not. She acts like if she says something loud and interrupts everyone, her point is made. Moron.

  • Why did God let it all happen in the first place? Maybe the whole thing was "part of God's plan", in which case, praying against it is pointless and possibly insulting to God. More importantly, why didn't God make Elizabeth Hasselbeck a mute?

  • @AceSkepTik lol @ Elisabeth being a mute, I wish!

  • @AceSkepTik

LOL...My guess is...Because God is Great! He did not make Elizabeth Hassel-B a mute because it was a simple fix. We can use a remote control and just hit MUTE!

  • this stinks

  • sherri is one stupid cunt...

  • It's so disappointing that the 2 younger members of the regular View panel are also the 2 idiots of the show. Our educational system is failing us.

Joy rules, and Garofalo is my one true god.

  • This was the most stupid thing i have ever seen. If prayer worked nobody would ever get sick and everybody would win in soccer or the lotto.

  • Maybe if America stopped praying and did some fucking work their country wouldn't be going down the drain.

  • If God is all knowing and all powerful, then why would you need to pray to him? Is he that dumb that he doesn't know that some disastrous event is occurring unless people get on their knees and tell him?

  • Elizabeth consistanlty misconstrues what she disagrees with. She is a very unintelligent person. She is so concerned with being right that she can't see pst her opinions.

Joy was saying that if prayer alone is how someone wants to solve problems then they are unintelligent. She never said not to pray or that prayerful people were stupid.

  • i gets so tired of people quoting star trek and talking about "logic".who are you people going to believe the word of God or some dumb show made up by hollywood.are you going to believe hollywood and go to hell or the bible.and don't tell me the bible is made up by men.it IS the inspired word of GOD.AMEN.

  • @rogerbahakel I believe hollywood more than mistranslated text. At least the movies are something to see. They are definitely false, and don't claim to be real.

  • @OmegaAtrocity how is it the bible mistranslated.the bible can be"taken out of context" but no the bible is all there.and most translations are correct.but you see people like bill maher who is always taken scripture out of context.or is putting his own spin on things.which are not correct.

  • @rogerbahakel The bible was not written in English, it was originally written in Greek. I doubt you speak Greek or have the original version. A lot more is lost in translation than you would think.

  • @OmegaAtrocity

Well actually the new testament is in Greek and the old in Hebrew. But otherwise, yes, I agree with you.

  • @rogerbahakel

Christians love to claim bible quotes that make the content of the bible look bad (like when god is commanding people to go out and slaughter other people or enslave them and keep the women for sex, stuff like that that god thinks is cool) are "taken out of context". Most of those quotes don't even require a context: under what context is slavery justified? When is it the right thing to do to slaughter a town and keep the women so you can rape them?

  • @rogerbahakel

If the bible were the word of god, you'd certainly expect that it would be self-consistent and not self-contradictory. Even a HUMAN could figure out how to make it all consistent if they put their mind to it. Well, oops, Mr. Omnipotent screwed up bigtime: the bible is full of glaring contradictions. (Any clear contradiction is GLARING if let slide by Mr. Omnipotent.) Watch the great video by NonStampCollector on bible contradictions. There's tons of them.

  • why would god fix the situation after he made it happen or didnt stop it from happenning? cant give him omnipotence and all knowingness if he does want to help

  • @shaq9000 This is my main problem with religion.

  • Im madly in love with Janeane Garofalo, no just drunk, she should get more work though, she probably writes alot of stuff

  • why would god have a sex unless there are other goddesses to have sex with? the whole "god is a male" argument flies in the face of monotheism.

-argument number 833 that religion is dumb.

  • if a prayer comes true: god caused it

if a prayer doesn't come true: it wasn't god's will

hey religitards, couldn't we say the same thing about the results of praying to a doorknob?

  • Who gives a shit if people want to pray or not? As long as others aren't forced to pray or forced to not pray I could care less what they do.

  • 'prayer is not illogical.'

i would've walked out at that point.

  • oh jesus fuck. why is this allowed on television.

  • Lolz OMG LMFAO

  • i'd fuck elisabeth. but no matter how sexually frustrated i might be or how many viagra i might take, i'd immediately go soft if i heard her voice.

  • @itscat92

God DOES have a plan for everything.

that child probably had a plan for a good life.

that kidnapper probably had a plan for a good life.

that kidnapper just chose to go against his plan, and step out of the right path, and affected someone else's plan as well as his own, in a negative way.

    that's called sin..

and that's why we have to pray for sinners to change their ways, to follow the path of goodness.

  • @12zuzus you are as simple as a kindergartener's day of school and Elizabeth would probably not be there if she hadn't looked good enough in a bathing suit to be on Survivor and let another aged contestant purposely lose in order to give her another day on the island. Sherri wraps herself in ignorance like its a designer dress.

  • @aryay00

i think you replied the wrong person, because your reply was completely irrelevant to my comment.

  • Liz, is very Judgmental person!!!

  • Yeah if science doesn't pick the oil up stop trying and call an invisible person in the sky...-_-

  • Remeber when Janaeneanenen Gruffalo was fun? No? Fun must be anti intellectual.

  • Thank you for posting this, thenewctc.

  • Who does prayer work for? What did it do for them? Why were their prayers answered/not answered? WERE they answered/not answered?

Did that guy really say they don't pray for the RIGHT things? HYSTERICAL!

  • When you ask anyone who belives in god - "why does god not help a child that is being held by some kidnapper, and the child is praying for god to save them"?,- they will tell you "because god has a plan for everything". So if god would not negotiate his plan for that, why would he for anything else? Even if you believe in god, you should not believe in prayer. (I dont belive in god)

  • @itscat92 According to the bibles god gave us free will, but then god has a plan, which eliminates free will, but we have free will, to do as god has planned, which is not free will.....anybody notice a problem here?

  • @InteGrayting2 I sure do.

  • @itscat92 Thank "god" somebody does! Lol! Oh the irony!

  • Like really i am verycurious as to when did people wonder if GOD was a woman; i think things would be so very different. she would have never made the man the head of her lol

  • 3 things:

Love Sherry and Elizabeth for their valid points.

Hughley makes good point too people generally pray when they're in trouble.

I'm Christian my husband is not - yet when his back is against the wall - I've heard him cry out and ask God why and for pray help. -- Funny how even those who say they don't believe......

  • that blonde lady is so predictable

  • the black chick should pray for a tredmill

  • pray in one hand and crap in the other.....Hail the Crap-God.

  • people that don't pray are going to hell

  • @NeoConNation shit your right...... Oh mighty mithra i beg of you dont send me to hell!

  • @TMeerkat8 people that mock god also will go to hell, it might be funny now but once your burning in hell for eternity you wont be laughing

  • People can pray if the want to, it's a Constitutional right. However, since most liberals are reactionary and overemotional about everything that doesn't validate their feelings, that's the only reason that someone else's praying has become an issue.

  • @SirManUp Or it could be that fundamentalist christians are sneaking onto school boards across this country trying to dumb down factual science, and push their beliefs on impressionable youth. Or that they affect our policy as a nation, and push to eliminate women's rights, or to deny rights given as a birthright in this country. All of this in the name of their god, and they have not shown to respect that there is in fact a separation of church and state. Could it be that?

  • @InteGrayting2 Exactly right! AND they're doing it with the help of people like Bill O'Reilly and Elizabeth Hasselbeck! It's very annoying.

  • If the Bible is the word of God, I think we can be reasonably sure that God isn't a woman.

  • @wjhopper and what makes you think GOD is a man?

  • @Joxxer36 Ever read the messages in the Bible? Especially the Old testament? For example I can't honestly believe a woman can be responsible for the garbage in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. They are full of misogynistic, homophobic, blood-thirsty witchcraft. I find it hard to believe a woman would ever come up with this kind of psycho BS. It must have been a male with very low self-esteem and possibly a somewhat small sexual organ.

  • @wjhopper

and that "god" isn't caring or loving.

  • @wjhopper "If the Bible is the word of God" . . . that is one BIG if.

  • hahahahahaahhaahha

  • Elisabeth needs to learn a damned thing about something other than Republican talking points. She is a dumb bitch who needs to understand that thinking isn't thinking about solving a problem. It is just asking someone else to do the work for you.

  • They need to have an actual philosopher on their table. People who haven't studied these things shouldnt be put on public tv to talk about a topic like this. fallacy after fallacy after fallacy after fallacy...

  • @finessify i often feel that way about this show. i find it frustrating because a couple of these women are pretty reasonable, but often miss the point because they don't have proper rhetoric skills.

  • I pray, believe, and i also believe in evolution, also I'm gay. oh. can you believe the cognitive dissonance in my brain.

  • Why they even discuss it ... try to explain this to your 5 year old son... that these grownups are talking about asking their imaginary friends for help...

  • ask Tim Tebow if prayer works lmfao

  • @broadwaywill didnt work for him last night lol

  • @broadwaywill I lol'd a lot harder than I probably should have.

  • Comment removed

  • @broadwaywill can you explain this further... are you saying that Tebow praying helped him win football games?

  • Thinking thin did not work, neither did praying thin. Oh, but changing my eating and moving habits did, imagine that. I am sick of American Christianity in any form taking offence to bein g told that they are not being genuine. . . cause they aren't. I have lost count of the number of times I have over heard a prayer group pray for student "x" to be blessed with an idea for a term paper. . . really? I have an idea, study and make a list. I am sure one will jump out at ya.

  • Comment removed

  • Elizabeth needs to get of her high horse and get a clue seriously was she born stupid or did she have to take an evening class in it

  • Whats the point in praying for a coffee when its logical to get off your ass and make one yourself, clearly logic and reason win.

  • Sherri baby, well sure prayer workes. lt sure did work for those jews in WWII. Oh yeah, l forgot, l guess they must have been praying to the wrong god those poor fucks. Gipsies, to whom ever e they were praying, they got screwed. But all in all, yeah, l'de say it works.

  • Sherry and Elizabeth have to be close to morons.

I have to assume they are on the show only because they are pretty an they create controversy with their stupidity. The audience seems to love it and that is scary.

  • I agree that prayer is an individual act but I do agree that as far as a solution to an issue, prayer is just unscientific and to be frank, unrealistic. You can't sit down and pray for a brain tumor to disappear. A doctor has to come in, asses the situation and then operate. I think that is the point Joy was trying to get across and I agree. I believe that prayer is used to boost faith and hope and to be closer to God but I don't believe prayer should be used as a solution to a problem.

  • @Mary82White Its not unrealistic to millions of people.

  • @lovewins49 I agree but when it comes to scientific solutions, prayer can't be one of them. To me, prayer is not only a way to praise God but it's also a way to find peace when it comes to issues that can't seem to be fixed. What I think Obama did was make Christians feel better when it seemed a major issue wasn't able to be fixed. That's my theory at least.

  • Show one piece of evidence that prayer has had a causal effect on anything outside the psychology of the person praying. Until you can show evidence that prayer actually has an effect, praying is illogical and anti-intellectual. When prayer 'works' it is either a coincidence or the placebo effect, there is no reason to think god exists or that he is answering prayers.

  • That was just intellectually insulting.

  • @theman2112394 They were puritans.

  • I know this country hates religious freaks but lets not forget who this country was founded by.....religious freaks.

  • @kamiiya92 No they were secular.

  • @kamiiya92 And therein lies the problem....

  • God Elizabeth is just annoying

  • @kamiiya92 ......................Yes indeed

  • where the fuck is this lil blonde airheaded bitch getting "pray for communism" 4rm? i know she being sarcastic but shit someone needa beat some common sense into her ass....

  • Elizabeth Hasssleeedump is sooooo clueless.

  • @TugsN finaly someone sees it

  • Faith is based on non-evidential belief. It most certainly is illogical to pray when we don't know if there is a God to receive it. The error that is found here is that most of those who commit to religion are blindly faithful to it. Most tend to take religion as 100% definitive, which leads to a very strong belief that prayer will actually do something. The logical thing to do is work the problem out, ourselves, that's what Joy meant. It wasn't an issue beyond our ability to cope with.

  • Faith and prayer dose work.

  • Elisabeth and Joy give eachother a hard time but theyre friends

  • Prayer is not the rational thing to do during a crisis. Especially in a government/ leadership perspective. Physical action needs to take place in order to accomplish anything. Prayer is just talking to yourself in your head...

  • that blonde bitch is a snappy retard, i would stick my dick in her mouth only to shut her up

  • @QWERTYADAM Amen!

  • Faith without works is dead!

  • D.L. needs to just keep his mouth shut about things he has no idea about. Prayer. Reality is not suspended when one goes to the Lord in prayer! In fact, reality is, the situation is beyond human control and the divine power of God is being asked to intervene! And Joy is a blithering idiot concerning religion of any kind. God is a woman? Get off your women's lib agenda of stuffing womanism down the world's throat like women are equal to men and vice versa in every way. That is ridiculous!

  • there is nothing wrong with praying it's stupid that people now a days poke fun at you for having a belief. There's nothing wrong with praying or having faith or hope. as long as you don't use your beliefs to harm some one or oppress some one it's cool. MLK prayed ghandi prayed and in some ways these men were able to achieve their goals. Now if you don't pray that's cool too but to hate on some one just for believing in something you don't is just ridiculous. And it just has gotten us no where.

  • @dedseason Ghandi was an agnostic, he renounced hinduism during his adulthood. His connection to spirituality was tenuous at most. As for MLK, he probably prayed all the time, but that certainly would not have contributed to his achievements, most notably, because he was murdered before he could realise all his ambitions. Criticizing somebody for doing something silly and ineffectual isn't counterproductive or ridiculous.

  • @canadaguy666 it was mlk's faith that kept him non-violent it was his faith that kept him strong. And praying isn't silly it is just another form of meditation. These people in power who call themselves Christian, muslim, etc. Only use that as an excuse they do not believe in the positives that faith brings they just have an agenda to enslave people and say it's in the name of their "god" which in a lot of ways draws people away from having faith it's all a plan to keep us devided

  • @canadaguy666

Just because you renounce a religion, it doesn't mean you aren't spiritual. You just don't subscribe to a certain set of dogma.

I think it's illogical to want the existence of one without the other. Faith gives humans comfort.

  • "for a lot of people, faith and prayer work" Um....no it doesn't, and just because a person "thinks" it makes a difference does not make it so. No person can give an example of a prayer ever being answered, but somehow this is considered a success rate. The closest thing this world has seen as a miracle is how long religion has managed to stay relevant in our modern world where the info to de-bunk every religion is right there if you are smart enough to comprehend the data. Prayer? Lol!

  • @InteGrayting2 What data?

  • @derivativesarecool What data are you talking about that can "debunk every religion?"

  • elisabeth doesn't like to let other people talk.....prayer is good if that is what you like but when it is not good is when the time calls for critical thinking. Ok let the people pray, but the president of the United states needs a plan.

  • From the back seat it's another dramasode of the Rear View. 3 women (who wish they were men), 1 gay man (who wishes he was a women) and 1 men is just their sex symbol (who has to be permitted to talk). The only prayer coming out of the view is for them to stop rule playing. Prayer to what ever God you pray to because he might be a she or even a he/she. Wow the devil is winning.

  • This was a whole waste of time. Gurafallo said its anti-intellectual when the POLITICIANS use prayer. She didn't say prayer in itself is stupid or anything. Idiots.

  • You know, studies have shown that microbes respond to prayer. If it works, how illogical can it be?

  • @rosebeeh What studies? Genuine curiosity here.

  • @PrincessCarltheI Google "bacteria prayer" and you get lots of interesting articles.

  • @PrincessCarltheI Google the words "bacteria prayer".

  • It's not surprising that religious people tend to have a lower IQ than agnostics and atheists. Religions is a mass delusion.

  • @cararacs Show some evidence of that. There is no study that shows lower IQ among religious groups.

  • @BlueRazor69 You should really research a topic before opening your mouth/typing about it...you might come off as ignorant. Just google Religiosity and intelligence. For some reason an error came up with copy and pasting the link.

  • @cararacs So where is the link?
