  • the engine on the 2006-present Nissan Skyline

    Engine

    2.5 L VQ25HR V6

    3.5 L VQ35HR V6

    3.7 L VQ37VHR V6

  • G37s is the 370gt skyline. 370z is the 370z.

  • you shouldn't really compare the 370z to the g37-___- the 370z is better in all aspects performance wise, but the g gives you the luxury and two extra seat in the back.. but i love my g35

  • best motoring > top gear

  • @jsiszero - my comment > your comment

  • @ironkcoony

    your mom > my mom

  • I have one of these cars.

His assessment is pretty much spot on. The car is not without its faults but it is a realy fantastic car. I have the Auto model because I am getting lazy these days. it gets lost some times but its probably one of the best auto's I have driven ( When its not lost). Chassis and suspension are unbelievably good for a stock setup. As good as my R34 with 7K of suspension parts on it. Score 8.7/10

BTW its about 1650 KG Not bad for a top spec luxury car with all the fruit.

  • how is it that coupe is heavier than sedan? that beats the whole purpose of owning a coupe.

  • Gan San is the BOSS

  • G37 and 370z are two different type cars. G37 is luxury... 370z is pure sport car.

  • Didn't know I owned a skyline 350gt

  • GREAT!

Thanks for the vid. May I suggest you also tag it as "Infiniti" G37 so that people looking for reviews for that car also land at this video.

    Cheers...

  • @alernest Its not an infiniti, its a nissan.

  • @kimchislayer

Huh...? Yeah, of course, it's commercialised as "Nissan" in Japan. But it's the same chassis, basic same engine, suspension, etc... it's the same car...

  • @alernest well people planning on getting this car arent going to watch this video. its for people interested on tuning this car. and besides best motoring is JAPANESE car show, ITS NOT AMERICAN. and real car people would classify the car by its chassis, WHICH THE TITLE SHOWS. and it even says g37 so stfu i think people know its by infiniti. be happy best motoring even shows this for us so dont bitch.

  • @kimchislayer

Relax, take your pills, I was cheering the car, and suggesting so that more people GET TO WATCH IT. I'm the farthest nationality away from American, BTW. And yeah, I know BMI is Japanese, I know that for the last 15 years and my only brain cell did get Gun San was speaking Japanese (LOL). And no, I wasn't trying to appear smarty telling people which make it evidently is. Yet one more thing, neither BMI nor HotVersion are about tuning cars. What was "I" bitching about again?

  • @alernest BMI and HOT version is all about tuning. it advertises tuning companies and packages you can buy for your car.

  • @kimchislayer Do you know why its marketed as a nissan? Lexus is the same way.

  • @dukviper90 personally i think its because the japanese know that nissan can make cheap cars and luxury cars. they dont need to market a more high end car with a different brand because nobody else does either.

  • @kimchislayer They tried to market it as Infiniti or lexus but neither of them suceeded. Luxury brands don't sell well in Japan. Nissan Fuga is the exact copy of the Infiniti M so you aren't sacrificing quality because it's a Nissan. Also the Japanese people don't care like Americans do.

  • @anjingkepala3

you can also get automatic 'box on previous skylines. Just not the GTR versions. But Yeah, Manual all day, anyday.

  • It may understeer, but he can still get the tail out. Is this still the Renault engine? I'd have thought valve surge/bounce was a thing of the past. This Nissan is probably made for 'mature' drivers who might not like oversteer.

  • @anjingkepala3 A car is meant to be fast, that is what the GTR is designed to do.

It has already been proven that the dual clutch gear box provides faster shift vs a normal 6 speed manual. This is what Nissan is aiming to do, they want to pass fast lap times of other super cars and set a name for themselves among the best.

However I do agree that the should have opted for a 6 speed also.

  • @anjingkepala3 It comes in a 6speed but don't forget this is a luxury coupe/sedan

  • My ideal skyline would be with this front and v35 rear esp lights, FR platform or the brilliant S platform from the Silvia, FMR weighs too much, and doesn't make a huge difference,2.0-2.5 inline 6 twin turbos (scroll) direct injection vvel rwd 6 sp manual ONLY, 1350kg 350hp, anyone agree?

  • dick head!!!!!!!!!

  • Do me a favor. Buy a G37, take it to the DMV, and try to register it as a "Skyline" and see how quick u will FAIL... Have a nice day.

  • I seriously hope u were being sarcastic lol.

  • Some ricer around my way has a new TSX with a Honda badge on the front grill. LOL!

And I hope this video doesn't make G37 owners think they're driving a Skyline...

  • but a g37 is a skyline. you mean the gtr!

  • its retarded people like u still cant tell the different between a SKYLINE and a GTR. U should do a full research on SKYLINE history and its trim level before u post some worthless comments on this site that misleading people who are watching this right now

  • @Vchenzo335ix

G37 is a rebadged Skyline. If you know ANYTHING about the history of the Skyline you'd have realized this already.

  • @Vchenzo335ix u do know nissan, honda, toyota re-badge their cars right...

  • why is a shitty TSX even being discussed here?

Get that Honda piece of shit out.

  • its not shitty its prety nice but its slow lol

  • Hmm well...I think the new TSX are much nicer, the older ones were built like crap, huge road noise, leather faded away after 6 months, chassis/pillars splintered away (same problem for my cousin's TL also.)

ROFL but thats besides the point, I'd never consider getting any Acura unless it's a NSX :D

  • this car gives me goose bumps just buy looking at it... I WANT ONE REALLY BAD!

  • @steffavel83 whore lol

  • NigguhJason is full of crap. I'm betting he's never sat in, much less driven, either a 370Z or a G37 but considers himself an expert because he's watched 100's of videos. The 370Z has one focus: performance, and that's at the expense of comfort. It rides like a brick on wheels. It's less than a half a second faster in a 1/4 mile than a G37. The G37 looks and rides way, way better than a 370Z so the 99.9% of the time that you aren't racing your car it makes a helluva lot more sense to own a G37.

  • @moosepok

Z34 has 275mm rear tires as opposed to the G's 245. That difference alone helps a lot in the 1/4mile. Weight is also another factor ofcourse.

  • I LOVE this car's design and image!!! I just love this thing!

  • "hiyy12" The features offered in the G, you can get in the 370z. If you buy the sports and touring package. The G doesn't offer any better luxury than any other car in the same price range. The only reason the G cost more is because its under an "Infiniti" badge. I'm pretty sure you get the same amount of luxury in the 370z if you pay. Its just the ride is different, and the name is different. Besides, rather get a Nissan than an Infiniti. Infiniti sales dropped 20% since 2008.

  • gan san is right about the nissan's engine response.. i've owned two z33(auto and stick) and a g37 stick... they all have this lag-of-throttle response characteristic that i never encounter on other vehicles like hondas/subaru... i've always been wondering why nissan engineers have design it this way... it makes the car far less exciting...

  • yea it these cars do have a bit of throttle lag like My G35 that i have but for what it does it can still walk most cars bro..imagine if the responce in the throttle was upgraded and or modified bam hits everyone were it hurts their balls lol!! cause Nissan does build great cars.

  • Great review. Gan-san is the best of them all. I do find this car quite disappointing in terms of driveability. About 300lbs of extra disappointment.

  • "nizmo3fiddyz" Pure performance? I think I would, because I don't like the G, and the G is clearly not a pure performance car. The ride is too comfortable to be a pure sports car. The Gs ride is better than the TSX. Makes even the TSX feel more sporty. The Gs suspension aren't stiff enough. So you're telling me its heavy because its luxurious? The G weighs 3,581 lbs, and the Lexus IS weighs 3,455 lbs. Last I checked the Lexus IS comes with better luxury features. Luxury don't make a car heavy.

  • lol want a cheaper skyline? Get a nissan. wanna pay more for a nissan? get a skyline.

  • Careful what you say about this car. There are a lot of fan boys that watch this video. Seriously...

Now now fanboys or no fanboys this car sucks imo. To me its an expensive knockoff of the 370z. The 370z is way better. Way better performer. More nimble. Shorter wheelbase. Lighter Way lighter. G Coupe/Sedans are heavy. I overall don't like this car, but that's just my opinion. I prefer the 370z. Also I wouldn't listen to anything that GTChannel post. They are bias for Nissan.

  • What are you talking about. i don't think you would like driving a pure sports car everyday as a daily driver would you. Reason why the G's are heavy is because they are made as a luxurious/sport car.

  • all you said are true, except you completely missed the point. clearly you are looking for performance. no doubt 370z is better in that respect. now, how about we give up a bit of performance for more luxury and image? thats what the G is...

  • Good honest review, I like it...!

  • lol shifter was shaking out of position

  • I like how honest he is (as was San Gan in the GT-R review) instead of being paid off by Nissan.

The bottomline: the car needs to be lighter and rev up faster. Well, that seems to fit the new Hyunday Coupe with a 2.0L Turbo doesn't it? Less money because of fewer luxuries, but more sporty. Otherwise, you might as well get the G37x sedan and be reasonable instead of sporty.

I personally would go for the 370z over the G37 because of the drop in weight and wheelbase and the sportier reflexes.

  • @alexebox the hyundai is slow, cheaply made and uninspired.

  • @alexebox right but the 370z and g caters to different audience. Almost like comparing apple to oranges.

  • G35 looks better imo. the G37 looks more soft and luxurious

  • i think they should do more colour options for the interior. i hate when they build i nice looking car like this for example. but then put cheap materials in it. maybe well built but. it looks nice. but the interior needs to aswell. different coloured leather maybe?

  • i think the 370z looks better

yes i kno they are mostly the same thing

but the g37 looks to big

  • @JBlade007 Nope, the G37 looks like a pussy magnet. The Z looks like just a car for guys who like cars.

  • @JBlade007 it competes squarely with cars like a 335i/coupe

  • i still dont like the fact that theyre calling something with a v6 instead of an inline 6 a skyline.

    is that just me?

  • Me too, I don't like the V6 engine in this Skyline and in the R35. They should've put an inline 6 cyl engine. They are still good engines but as Kurosawa said for the R35: "It has V6 engine so the sound isn't good".

  • @RB26DEST

3.7 I6 will be too long to fit in this size car.

3.0 is about the limit. if you want I6 and power , you need force induction. that's what bmw did on the 335i. But I agree, I6 is more refined engine than V6.

  • g35 looks better to me. I'll wait for an update to this model. I have an 02 sentra spec. i think that one looks better than the 09 spec too. maybe its just me.
