But if you pass to someone and he's completely open but the range is too far for him and he takes two dribbles or so to get closer to the basket, then its still an assist. At THIS play its weird to say it was an assist cause allen created the shot on his own, dribbling past the defender and then stopping and going up but still rondo set it up and there weren't eve 2 seconds between the catch and the shoot, check it out :)

I'm wondering what Rondo will become when he develops a consistent jumper. After the great start of this season I would even say he was in front of CP3 - but than again, that might be the result of playing with much better teammates than Paul. Once CP3 joins the Magic or the Knicks next year, with a consistent D-Will plus D-Rose and Westbrook improving as they should, this will be The Fab Five of PGs in the league. @lagosdre Yes they are. If a player (rondo) passes the ball to another player and they take only 1 or 2 steps then make a basket, it counts as an assist.
He's the ideal point guard. Pass first, good defensive player and has a great assist to turnover ratio. The Celtics are a great team because they have role players who stick to what they do best and don't try anything out of their comfort zones.
I always thought, one bounce or less after receiving pass counts as assist for the passer. Only 1 (Ray Allen; 2 dribbles) looked like it wasn't assisted. Either way that's pretty impressive. I wonder how many turnovers he racked up.

@magepunk9 kobe is 3 years and something months older than wade. i have to say kobe is good and in his prime he was the best in nba. but kobe now has a lot of injuries and he is struggling cause of those injuries. thats why i would go with dwade. and about kevin durant, i chose him because miami is my fav team and ever since the finals i hated lebron a lot cause he chocked when it mattered the most. lol

I'm wondering what Rondo will become when he develops a consistent jumper. After the great start of this season I would even say he was in front of CP3 - but than again, that might be the result of playing with much better teammates than Paul. Once CP3 joins the Magic or the Knicks next year, with a consistent D-Will plus D-Rose and Westbrook improving as they should, this will be The Fab Five of PGs in the league. The future of NBA point guards is bright, indeed. And don't forget John Wall...

Mate i dont like arguing with people who were dropped on their heads as a child, so ill try and explain. CP3 averages more in every category including a 90% FT compared to rondos 46.2% He averages 17pts a game to 10.8. And to top that cp3 only plays 33.8 minutes while rondo plays 41.1. Dont reply

MOST of the assists to big baby Arent assists but passes, NBA just wants to get publicity and award him as the new assist man of the league...the same thing happens with LBJAMES.

@lagosdre Yes they are. If a player (rondo) passes the ball to another player and they take only 1 or 2 steps then make a basket, it counts as an assist.

He's the ideal point guard. Pass first, good defensive player and has a great assist to turnover ratio. The Celtics are a great team because they have role players who stick to what they do best and don't try anything out of their comfort zones.

I always thought, one bounce or less after receiving pass counts as assist for the passer. Only 1 (Ray Allen; 2 dribbles) looked like it wasn't assisted. Either way that's pretty impressive. I wonder how many turnovers he racked up.
