Both shuttle accidents could have been prevented if NASA would have listened to the little guy telling them not to launch due to the possible freezing of the o-rings or about the piece of foam that struck Columbia. They were just reckless in their decision-making, IMO.
I also got choked up when the flight director put his hand over his face. RIP, both crews of Challenger and Columbia.
Earth to Columbia, you are go for eternal orbit. God speed, and good tail winds. You will never be forgotten. You may join your sister Challenger into the unknown.
"Columbia Houston, UHF Com-check." How many times did that poor guy say that? How many times well past the point he knew it was futile did he continue to repeat it and hope?
@obama93142 No, actually, they did. Their mission was accomplished. They went into space, accomplished their mission, and died coming home. They certainly accomplished something for their fellow space traveling community and possibly all of mankind. So, I guess then by your standards they are qualified. As I said: Heroes, all of them.
@obama93142 no heroism there?!?!? how old ru?!? if something goes wrong its not like u driving a car u pull over n call the aa. Those man are brave, they face death every time they step into a shuttle to give us knowledge.
Maybe for u only a soldier is brave!!? fighting wars that sometimes they arent even suppose to happen...
Truth is that I find the falling debris just as beautiful as the shuttle launch itself... maximum love and respect to the Astronaut's and all those affected by this terrible disaster ofcourse
@steveos111 I've got a Challenger / Columbia Tribute on my channel but I've got about 1/3 thumbs down for no good reason - and some snotty comments. I don't know what's wrong with people these days. As far as Violine777 is concerned, it's a very nice tribute and well put together. Kept my attention through all of it. Well done and God Bless the Challenger and Columbia Crews.
the space shuttle Columbia is my favorite I had just 7 years old when the disaster occurred and only heard that something had exploded untransbordador, then when I got older I was very interested in space and I knew the ferry speaking was the Columbia.
I hope the 7 souls who traveled there in a good place.
Columbia was my favorite space shuttle. The 1st, the one who paved the way for Challenger (may she and her crew rest in peace), Discovery, Atlantis, and last but not least, the baby of the space shuttles, Endeavour. I hope Columbia and her astronauts are in a better place now with Challenger and her crew as well. I remember when i got up excited early in the morning to watch Columbia's reentry live, just to watch the death of these 7 astronauts and Columbia. I cried my eyes out for days,
i was about 12 or 12 when this happened. i was actually on a boyscout campout and we just got off a 10 mile hump in some decently deep snow. us kids went down to the field to throw snowballs for awhile, and when we got back all the adults were crying and wouldnt talk. we learned later that night what happened. whats ironic is that night we were supposed to launch 10 model rockets and for 3 months we had been learning partially about the space program and boyscouts involvment. r.i.p.
@violine777 LOL i like how the song is that 2 steps from hell, they are 2 steps from hell and because there scientists most likely they are athiest, so they are 2 STEPS FROM HELL :O
@MrUberVideos actually Rick Husband the commander was a very strong practicing Christian as well as Mike one of his friends, and the Ilan the Israeli that was with them was a Jew, i don't know abotu the rest.
@peaceloveanime286 It is very moving I remember this day very well i was on local college radio at the time and i suddely got a phone call I pretty much unprofessionally dropped it when they said it's been lost I then had the sad duty to inform those that had not heard or seen it on college radio the sad news and rapidly change my music selection in a sign of respect.
@tool85pushit Ummmmmm we ARE in space going about 75,000 miles an hour through the galaxy on a gigantic rock that is about 4 billion years old and happens to support life. It's a matter of perspective.
@yourjudgeandjury Well done dickhead! Obviously we're not supposed to sit on something loaded with thousands and thousands of pounds of thrust trying to hurtle ourselves off this "gigantic rock that is about 4 billion years old". Fuckin Americant's
Great tribute. God bless them and their family. I teared up too when I watched this video...

There's an Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon called Catholicism.
He was on his last mission of the Space Shuttle Columbia, he was the first Israeli astronaut, and he deserves a lot but a lot of respect!
His son, Asaf Ramon graduated cum pilot course (Fighter Pilot) is also killed in a plane crash.
Both deserve great respect!
Rest in peace.

o sistema de proteção térmica da nave tinha se gastado demais durante o lançamento,
e o pior é q eles sabiam disso!
então, resolvendo voltar a terra assim mesmo achamdo que a cílica dava conta, estavam errados.
