Far Cry 2 on X1550

get a fast cpu for this game , or overclock your current one , I beleive it should help.

cant even put all settings on medium with a playable framerate on 800x600 on a 8500gt :(

put the shadows and geometry on "low".

I used PNY 7600gs PCI-E and has it running full settings on 1440x900

your pc is ok for current games, only need upgrade to 4GB ram and changes that crap card for a great budget card like a HD 4830.

My pc isnt build for ATI cards. I have a nvidia chipset, so nvidia cards work faster(borrowed a HD 3850 once, but it made a lot of games crash. I dont need 4GB of ram just yet, theres never more than 700megs in use on the desktop.

I will be swapping my processor and gpu for an Athlon II X2 250, and a gf 9800GT

another thing:

FC2 now runs just fine on my 8500GT. updated the driver, OCd the card, and now I get on low settings (some med) 1024x768 very playable framerates. (between 30-45 fps)

Yes X1550 isn't that good , sometimes the Nvidia 7600gs can win against X1550 at games .
