anyways.. I have a folder of just the mp3 and the .sm file, but keep getting the file formatted incorrectly message. Anything that I could be doing wrong to get this?
@findarian, unfortunately there are small issues with SSFFRC that have yet to (and probably will never be) fixed. If I recall correctly SSFFRC has a serious issue converting higher quality mp3's, and additionally DO NOT convert files over 8:50 long!! World Tour 2004 is the longest song on FFR for a reason, if it was even just 30 seconds longer the file would go into glitch overdrive once the max length is hit. I tested this with Dungeon.1 a long time ago, the file will be unplayable around 8:50!
@nickcool9999, that's awesome! Yeah that song is pretty ridiculous, along with a few of the other songs on there. You have to be able to vibrate pretty fast so even come close to keeping up with that ending!
@cheztheguy, that is essentially impossible. Stepmania runs on very precise timing, according to a beats per minute scale...while on the other hand FFR is a 30 fps "close enough" kind of conversion. Essentially FFR conversions take a SM file and are like "note at 0.0234 seconds? Frame 6 is good enough." You could copy the chart and remake it in Stepmania...but that is an unnecessary amount of work.
@wads40, the jacking shown in this video is irrelevant to how I can jack now. I can jack my way through Through the Fire and Flames, and Knights of Cydonia at this point fairly well.
Phht...fap yourself at 220bpm at 16th note increments.
@wads40, faster than humanly possible. You'd probably get some serious burns from the friction you'd make from vibrating at that speed. It would be much funnier though!
@RiotFinger glad to hear you like it! I've heard coding one of these is rather annoying, as I know someone who is really good in flash that is currently doing things, like making his own variation of the FFR engine.
MRpseudoDUDE, I suppose. You could decompose the .swf file and copy paste the actionscript into notepad, and then create the SM file, and set the BPM to 310. After this you would have to place the arrows one by one in the editor until the song is complete I would imagine.
Otherwise you'd have to look for the original SM files. Good luck with either one of those!
mortcus, this is because of either one of two things: Either you have an error in your xml within the first song (whether it be it doesn't have closed code, or the ending "/song" at the end of it). Other than that, you are probably putting your songs at the BOTTOM of the xml file, where a "dataroot" code ends the setlist. Be sure to check if your songs are inserted AFTER this "dataroot" by finding it with notepad's find program. If they are placed after, move the "dataroot" code to the end.
miniclip4456, not really, considering that I just checked the site myself and it seems to be functioning just fine. Try using a different browser (IE: Firefox, Opera, Phase Out, K-melon, Shenz broswer, AOL, etc), and it should work. Also, be sure to have the URL be EXACTLY what it is in the description, as if you add "w w w[dot]" before ssffrc, the site will not load properly.
SilenceXCore, I'm sorry...but have you played some of these songs? Most of them are amazing on stepmania, so an FFR conversion certainly would be nice, granted some of the files I convert are kind of a ridiculous difficulty, on FFR they can be quite fun.
I don't think so, unless you actually recreate the step yourself by using the correct BPM and adding the arrows in according to their frame in the beat box actionscript. Just look for some of the SIM files, they all were on SM originally.
@foxfire667 Yes, I use to play these songs each day, dude =P Jackhammer madness is fawcking impossible to pass withouth a good vibrate skills. Wich FFR delete all of these skills =P. Maid of fire is only cool to MA, because it's easy to PA. FFR make an AAA so fucking easy (even more when the timing window of FFR is so easy ahah).
For jack files like that, I tend to work my way into being ambidextrous, and use Stepmania's [key, key, key, key] and [left, down, up, right] double setup. It is usually a pain to do though.
That is the fun of FFR. It is all about the combo...while Stepmania is all about the accuracy. If you play both, inevitably you will get more accurate, and your arrow key hit rate gets higher and higher.
As for stepmania, I consider "marvelous" and "perfect" one "perfect" on FFR.
@foxfire667 I dont understand the keykey leftdownuprigh. You double setup the file? I mean you double setup the jacks? But If you're working on being ambidextrous, it's really useful. This is exactly my problem. I can jack at 200bpm/215bpm with my right hand, but not with my left. It always be the same thing with trills, but since a long time i'm ambidextrous for that pattern.
Anyway, who still cares about combo? Maybe on JHM but on Maid, combo is easy. Ma is the thing you should watch. =P
You got it. Have you ever tried to use the arrow keys on a a song as well as the key setup that you already have? It works very well on simple jack songs like Jackhammer Madness. I have the same problem as well, but I have been trying to get better and better with it recently. I'm getting a lot better.
If you seriously played FFR, you would understand about the whole "combo" thing.
@foxfire667 You make me laugh. '' If you seriously played FFR '' . I am Azafreak. I played FFR for like 2years, my average ranking was 8, and my overall was 100. I know FFR lot more than you, I would bet. ahaha. But no insult here dude you're pretty cool too.
And. Omg, this is exactly what I do. For JMH I exactly use leftdownupright key to pass it, otherwise (idk why) i can't jack that good with zx23 (my usual setup). ahaha.
2 years huh? That's pretty impressive, I myself got the short end of the stick, only getting to play it online since June 17th as a total newbie. Also, I doubt that, even if you had been playing FFR for 5 years, unless you actually helped create the FFR website, there is no way you know more about it than I do structure wise. History wise... you might know more, but code and gameplay wise, I doubt it.
What a setup! I don't think I could play that way. The arrow keys aid jacking for me to!
Also, if you have been playing for 2 years, then you know FFR is all about the combo. You know then that each arrow on your max combo adds 1,000 points to your overall score, and that there is pretty much no song that hasn't been full comboed by at least 50 to 100 people at minimum (obviously excluding vrofl). That is what I meant by "if you seriously played," because then you would understand first hand how important comboing is. Also, thanks!
@foxfire667 what do you think. I know everything of this. ( Maybe not the 1'000 points to your overall score because i dont give a shit) but i know that every has been FC'd ( I did it) (but for Vrofl uh ). dude, i played seriously, and i know the combo is important. Don't think i'm a noob, or challenge me on any official song of FFR. But like you said, everybody can FC these songs. Who care now? Everything is about the MA/PA. That's why i said the combo doesn't matter, in fact.
Combo is the essence of scoring in FFR, and for you to have FC'd every song in the public set list, you of all people should especially know this. You must have brought combo into serious consideration back then, especially if you did full combo songs like RATO. FC'ing in FFR is fairly easy yes, but you cannot deny how highly they placed obtaining a full combo into the game. Stepmania, yes, it is all about the MA, but for FFR...a high combo is just as if not even more important.
I know, but what is more impressive in RATO? Dossar that can FC'd rato lot of time but ONE TIME he missed but got an AWESOME PA count? Or MrRubix, that FC'd it with a ''okay'' PA?. Dossar win. I'm sorry. and FUCK. STOP THAT. I know FFR really, really FKN WELL. Stop talking at me like I was a noob, because i was there before you. I agree that maybe on hard song like RATO/DP, the combo is more important, but on every other song, PA really matter. When someone got 2greats and 1 miss its
If he won because of score, then he got his single miss in an area of the song where his combo would still have been very high.
I'm not talking to you like you are a newbie, I just don't understand why you can't see the significance in combo. Although it does matter what your PA is on a song, if you get a 0-0-1-0 on anything less than a For guru's only, your rank is going to be through the roof, while a black flag and no misses will give you a much better rank. They both are important...
...but combo does have much more weigh, especially on easier songs. I can usually get a pretty awesome score on "Reality," but, if I were to SDG it, with no averages or boos but a single miss...my rank would be worse than if I were to mash my way to an FC. Of coarse PA is much more valuable than combo in the long run, but, you must understand my point of view...FFR is geared toward getting high a high combo. Trust me, I am hardly a newbie at this game...and I never implied you were either.
@foxfire667 Hey dude, i think of it: Is there a way to play the FFR songs without using internet? (aka ffrlightdarknes) I saw a torrent (but its an ISO, im not sur it'll work.) and also in your description there's a link to the FFR engine offline. So my question is: Can i play the FFR song with the FFR engine OFFline? =D thx bro
@foxfire667 oops NVM! It's your other video! lol sorry dude. And also, i know things about the FFR history, but not really about coding and thing. Each our weakness =P Anyway. thx
Yeah no problem! I hope you have fun with the offline engine!
I know a little bit about FFR's history, but I didn't really connect with too many people as I only got to play FFR online for around 5 months or so, and I didn't really like the forums. As for coding, I know pretty much everything about FFR's structure, in fact, lightdarkness' song selection code on that site is actually mine, from my original "FFR mod" code. Awesome right?
Hmmm so i downloaded the ffr game then downloaded the levels, then i put the levels in the level map at the ffr beta thing and then.... it doesnt work. =P could you explain it a lil bit because im not good at this kinda stuff :c
Level map? I hope you mean the levels folder. Your level should be here file:\\FFR BETA\levels\level_whatever.swf
Then you open the t-xmlfeedbacktest file, and copy paste the code from SSFFRC into it, making sure that none if it is removed. Save the file, and open up the engine. It should be in the Dance genre after all of the other songs if you did it correctly. To move it to different genres check out my genre values in my channel description!
Dabreaker9, watch my other video: "The Flash Flash Revolution offline engine," as this provides the downloads necessary to play the original FFR songs, like Here we go.
Yeah, you don't happen to have an offline version of the converter, do you?
