I did get to see him in person in Midland, Texas. We sat and talked for two hours about the simularities in our lives. He is in person the same way he appears in his songs very humble and down to earth

I thought no one could touch Roberta Flack's version of this song...till I heard this. Vern Gosdin just continues to blow me away with his incredible voice and talent and humility to boot. He was such an unbelievable talent. So sad that he is no longer with us. I only wish I had had the opportunity to see him in person.

I can't believe that Vern passed away on April 28, 2009. I will miss him greatly. I loved his sound and his voice. What a wonderful talent who should be enducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Roberta, your version was beautiful. Polished and scripted. It was fantastic. Now comes Mr Gosdin with just pure soul and feeling. He makes it genuine. I travel with my profession. I' m sitting in a Motel Room 250 miles from home listening to this. Taking shots of Tequila and chasing it with Coors Light. Remembering the first time I saw my beautiful wife' s face 45 years ago. She' s still the beautiful girl I fell in love with. Thanks Mr. Gosdin for allowing me to remember.
