You can turn the temple into a club, turn the club into a temple, or go clubbing with Krishna in your living room. It's all good, just as long as you remember who brought you to this dance. Whenever you think of Hari with devotion, wherever you may be, this is Harinama. And once you think of Hari with devotion, He will find you, wherever you are -- there is no escape.
You one righteous Bhakti, Ben. Please don't change. Hari bol ... rock on.
There's no goal to life, anymore than there's a goal to reading a novel. It's just a story you've been reading, and now you've become identified with the character of Ben, so that's who you think you are -- and you experience relative joy or suffering based on what he goes through. It's really a big cosmic joke though. No guru can give you anything -- only point to the truth within you. Outward sadhana is good. Best is total surrender to the divinity within (i.e., Krishna, or love itself).
Wow, you have alot of followers. It's lovely to hear other peoples experiences! And good to hear that the devotees were all nice. Whatever you do though, dont listen to any criticism about any other vaisnavas or gurus in the line of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, thats the biggest caution I have about hanging around some devotees. Good luck on the path!
Thanks for the nice video. Brought back the memories of the days when I was hanging out with the hare krishnas. Even though I am not one any more, I am still kind of thankful to them for waking me up from the sleep of materialism.
dawn of the age of enlightenment . kali yuga . might not seem like it but good things take time . out nothing comes everything . after all what is inside a seed .nothing. All glory to supreme being . peace & love . abd may your god be with you
this one isnt supposed to make you laugh though... hes just showing us what he did for the 3-4 months that he was gone.
Glad you didnt have get rid of the hair ben haha, deffo was something fascinating to watch and that.. be nice find out a bit more about the views and thoughts of people from the temple =]
My belief is that our purpose in life is to develop ourselves spiritually by practicing virtues. An analogy to describe my understanding: A baby develops for 9 months in the womb. It develops appendages, eyes, ears and so forth but they do not serve much of a purpose in the womb but are meant for use in this world. It's the same with the spirit: in this world we are developing spiritually for an existence in a spiritual world. The child does not sense the world outside the womb- same for us

tricking yourself in to beleiving you are happy all the time is not good. it is simply delusion. emotions are for a reason which is to tell you what is good and what is bad for you. in my veiw you can only be spiritualy happy when you come to notice the equal beauty of every one of gods creations from the sunset to the peice of excrement on the paper you used to wipe yourself. thank you for listening to my veiw.

Most likely you have seen that video. In any case, I am the devotee from Argentina, my brother is the one giving my a hug and my mom the one talking among the other devotees... It was a few years back. I'm in Chicago now working as a college professor in a small town nw of the city.
My kids love to watch your videos... we laugh a lot. Keep it up!
hey!! what temple were you at because I just got home from london and i visited the london soho temple last Friday for arati at 12 30 and i came a bit after the sunday program!
Your video recalled to mind my first 3 months living in a temple. I'm glad they let you keep your hair, they insisted I cut mine. I suppose I could have objected, but that's not really in line with the whole surrender thing is it? Anyhow, nice to see people enjoying time in a temple.
i dont know about everyone else goals..but i believe that everyone got a purpose in life, mine is to do my best to find good in ppl and to be good and right to myself respecting the limits of other that live with me
I missed you so much that I tried watching the videos of the people who asked you the questions in "on the couch with Ben Loka" but it wasn't the same...
I was watching this while there was country music playing in the background on my computer, though I didn't realize it. As I continued to watch I pondered, "Why would Ben Loka put country music in the back of a hare krishna video?"
haha, yea, why WOULD I do that.... its ok though, I kinda like that you gave my video a country theme, next time I'll wear a cowboy hat and hopefully I'll seem more relevant
benjamin loka, the goal in life is obviously to mix lime jello with orange gatorade and then shove it down your weird uncle's hairy back at the family reunion. only to have him yell at you.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Haha, my videos are getting to the point now that only people who have stayed in an ashram will get them! lol. And yea Charlie is awesome, Haribol to the slippers!!

My life is leading me on a religious journey too, but mine brought me to Orthodox Judaism. I'm early in the process of converting, and I have never felt more at peace in my life. I got a load of those books for free in my nearest town, there were a load of hare christnas or however its spelt giving them away. To be honist i found them a bit boring. But i guess its not for me. they did give me another book with veggie food in tho :)
just chillax dont worry about it so much youve got an infinate amount of reincarnations to restore your karmic det in the mean time concentrate on spiritual development towards reaching enlightenment

THAT WASN'T A TEMPLE! You've just joined some guys cult and have been paying a silly amount of money to rent a bedroom with an angry alcoholic. Enjoy your eternity in hell.
I can feel His love and I know that He's put me here for a reason. The timeline of the Bible is plausible and there are loads of examples of evidence.
no your brains creating all this in your mind because you need a god figure in your life to make it worth living if you didnt youd see know point and perhaps brake down into depresion which is not good if the body wants you to pass on your genes
the timemline may be plausable but what evedence is there to suggest that any of the bits proving theres a god is true apart from shear hopping
I dont want the prize (you couldn't pay me to read that bollocks) but I'll respond to the question here:
There is no 'goal' in life except for those that you set yourself.
Although knowing you you're probably on about "The Goal of Life", written by Murtadha Mutahhari, Divinity scholar and general waste of space. Fortunately someone shot him like 30 years ago.
The goal of life is to find the meaning of life, and after my long-lasting search for the meaning of life I have found that it in fact lies in, not the number FORTY TWO, but the phantom chicken and egg. They will haunt you for the rest of your life if you cannot work out which comes first.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
THAT WASN'T A TEMPLE! You've just joined some guys cult and have been paying a silly amount of money to rent a bedroom with an angry alcoholic. Enjoy your eternity in hell.

The one with the beard? Yes, the Indian with the beard, that is who he pays money to.

For me the goal in life is to live it for God: the best you can and in reflection of his word. : )
10MrsDavidTennant10 3 years ago
how can you be sure there is a god?
livinginoneness9 3 years ago
I can feel His love and I know that He's put me here for a reason. The timeline of the Bible is plausible and there are loads of examples of evidence.
10MrsDavidTennant10 3 years ago
no your brains creating all this in your mind because you need a god figure in your life to make it worth living if you didnt youd see know point and perhaps brake down into depresion which is not good if the body wants you to pass on your genes
the timemline may be plausable but what evedence is there to suggest that any of the bits proving theres a god is true apart from shear hopping

I'm not very spiritual or anything but I just think like the goal of life... is to live.

I think the goal of life is to live.
You said that.
Now I'm saying it.

The Goal of life is to have a meaning of life. Then you can start to do whatever that is. When you've done that, you've done about everything

true lol

I dont want the prize (you couldn't pay me to read that bollocks) but I'll respond to the question here:
There is no 'goal' in life except for those that you set yourself.
Although knowing you you're probably on about "The Goal of Life", written by Murtadha Mutahhari, Divinity scholar and general waste of space. Fortunately someone shot him like 30 years ago.
Happy New Year!

Dabby Thats just mean man.

The goal of life is to find the meaning of life, and after my long-lasting search for the meaning of life I have found that it in fact lies in, not the number FORTY TWO, but the phantom chicken and egg. They will haunt you for the rest of your life if you cannot work out which comes first.

yayayay! you're back! i hope you had a great time and it helped you lots, etc!
musicislife34 3 years ago
first i would like to state that there is a vast difference between the "goal" of life and the "meaning" of life.
ok now for my answer
the "goal" of life is whatever goal one sets for themsevles, because its a very general term.....
