The supers are to dang loud the drone will drive u crazy I had to take them off my gt500 gave them to my friend to put on his reg mustang gt he said same thing can't stand them
Does anyone know the difference in sound between the flowmaster super 40 vs the super 44? Which one is deeper and or louder? Thanks. The super 44's sound awesome on this stang by the way.
thanks Chris, I havent heard the super 40s in real life but flowmaster has samples on their website. I would get on a mustang forum and ask. I have found that any and every question you can think of has usually already been asked and ppl are very helpful in giving their experiences.
nice car man, i have 2005 GT as well with flows 40s and JLT CAI, mine is just tuned so i felt the power. that little rattle at the end of the rev sounds good but it means your engine is still cold :) ...so not good to rev
@aaminjoshi91 i havent dyno'd it so i dont know the exact numbers. The site says about 25-30 HP increase but that depends on the 80MM or 95MM and whether you tune it or not. Once I get the JBA headers on, I will dyno this puppy to see what my numbers look like. Checked out your truck, sounds good man.
@JPeng16990 thanks man, appreciate the info and the compliment! You already know this but you got a good lookin mustang man! Love the color combo its classic!
@JPeng16990 a CAI will never get you 25HP. I gained 25HP to the rear wheels from JLT CAI, 87 octane tune with SCT tuner and underdrive pullies. the CAI sounds amazing with the exhast though
@aaminjoshi91 You know, I got the CAI before the exhaust so I dont really know to be honest. I have the oversized WMS CAI and it really lets the air in. When I step on the pedal, you can sometimes hear the air being sucked into the CAI. I am getting JBA longtubes and a larger throttle body to "complete" the airflow upgrade. Let me know if you notice a difference!
@JPeng16990 alright thanks for the hoesnty man, and yeah let me know when you get a video up and i'll check it out. I might get a cold air intake too or maybe some headers, still cant decide on which will give me more power and a little better sound increase. I got a few vids up of my exhaust if you wanna check em out!
Hey I was wondering if you knew the difference between the 44's and the 40's. I have a 1967 Mustang, which one would go best. And should I weld them on or not.
Geektar03, I think sabbath is right, I jumped on the Flowmaster site and just did a bunch of digging. Any mustang forum too will probably have a bunch of guys with a wealth of knowledge. Good luck!
Thanks Chris! One thing I did, bc they are smokey/see through is spray the inside of them with textured black paint. I didnt want the yellow or taillight coming through.
guessing you had to buy the mufflers and tips separate and have them installed? what size did you buy for in/out 2.25" or 2.5"?

did the cai help the exhaust sound? i know more airflow in means more airflow out but did it make any significant changes to sound?

I think those sound really nice. Are they very loud on the inside? Is the drone bad?
jimistripe 3 years ago
Not at all, its get loud if you step on it. You can notice the drone if you run the RPMs really low. Thanks for the comment.
